 Linguistic/Alphabetic
• Refers written or
spoken words.
• Shopping list,
emails,text messages,
etc.
 Visual
• Refers to the image and
characters that people
see.
• Videos, charts, animation,,
presentation,GIF.
 Gestural
• Refers to the way
movement is
interpreted.
• Facial expression, body
language, hand gestures.
 Spatial
• Refers to the
arrangement of
elements in space.
• One example of this is
brochure.
 Audio/Aural
• Focused on sound.
• Recording of public speech that
is delivered orally to alive
audience, a radio addres, or a
podcast.
