parasites such as cryptosporidium
and giardia); toxins produced by
harmful algal and cyanobacterial
blooms in the water; and chemicals
that end up in water from human
activities.
TYPHOID FEVER (salmonella typhi)

 Itis a bacterial infection that can spread


throughout the body, affecting many organs.
Without prompt treatment, it can cause serious
complications and can be fatal. It’s caused by a
bacterium called salmonella typhi, which is
related to the bacteria that cause salmonella
food poisoning.
CHOLERA
 Cholera is an acute diarrheal illness caused by
infection of the intestines with vibrio cholera
bacteria. People can get sick when they swallow
food or water contaminated with cholera bacteria.
The infection is often mild or without symptoms,
but can sometimes be severe and life-threating
GIARDIA
 Giardia infection is an intestinal infection marked by
stomach cramps, bloating, and bouts of watery
diarrhea. Giardia infection is caused by a microscopic
parasite that is found worldwide, especially in areas
with poor sanitation or in soil, food, or water that has
been contaminated with feces (poop) from infected
people or animals. You can get giardiasis if you
swallow giardia germs.

Dysentery is an infection of the
intestines that causes diarrhea
containing blood or mucus. Other
symptoms can include: painful stomach
cramps, feeling sick or being sick,
vomiting a high temperature.
ESCHERICHIA COLI
 Escherichia coli, is also known E. coli, is a gram-negative,
facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, coliform bacteria of
the genus Escherichia that is commonly found in the
lower intestines of warm-blooded organisms. The bacteria
is found in the environment food, and intestines of people
and animals. E coli are a large and diverse group of
bacteria. Although most strains of E coli are harmless,
others can make you sick
HEPATIS A
Hepatitis A is an inflammation of the liver
caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). The
virus is primarily spread when an uninfected
(and unvaccinated) person ingests food or
water that is contaminated with the feces of
an infected person.
SALMONELLA-
SALMONELLOSIS
 Salmonella are a group are a group of bacteria that
can be cause gastrointestinal illness and fever
called salmonellosis. Salmonella can be spread by
food handlers who do not wash their hands and/or
the surface and tools they use between food
preparation steps, and when eat raw or
undercooked foods.
