At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

● Define the 4 M's of Production in relation to business;


● Analyze the importance of each factor in the 4 M's
production in the business; and
● Draw a lay-out of the production area for your business and
list important information about your production section.
MOTIVATION
You woke up early because it was the first day of school, you
thought of eating breakfast first, since it was still early before class
started. You liked to eat your favorite egg sandwich to start your
day with energy and fun. But before you eat that, you need to know
first:

1. Who will cook the egg sandwich?


2. What ingredients will you use in cooking?
3. What equipment will you use?
4. What are the processes involved in making an egg sandwich?

PRODUCTION
What is the 4M’s of
Production?
The most serious issues in the whole production
system are the inputs and the transformation
process. The factors involved in the input and
the production process are usually referred to as
the Four (4) M’s of production, namely
Manpower, Method, Machine, and Material.
4M’s of Production

01. MANPOWER

Talks about the human labor force


involved in the manufacture of
products. It is measured as the most
serious and main factor of production.

02. MATERIALS
Talks about raw materials necessary in
the production of a product. Just in case
the resources are below standard, the
finished product will be unsatisfactory
as well.

03. MACHINE
Discusses about manufacturing
equipment used in the production of
goods or delivery of services.

04. METHOD
Production method discusses the
process or way of transforming raw
materials to finished products. The
resources undergo some stages before it
is finalized and becomes set for
delivery to the target buyers.
