Introduction

What is concrete repair?

Concrete repair is the process of fixing or restor-

ing damaged concrete structures that, over time,
has lost the ability to hold the binding concrete
materials together due to damage or environ-
mental exposure. Concrete repair is appropriate
for cracks, physical impacts, chipped out sur-
faces or surface scaling.

Hoover Dam
• The Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity
dam built in 1930 on the Colorado River in
the United States. In the 1990s, a concrete re-
pair project was undertaken to address issues
such as alkali-aggregate reaction (AAR) and
freeze-thaw damage. The repair work in-
volved removing and replacing damaged con-
crete, injecting epoxy into cracks, and in-
stalling steel reinforcement.
Willis Tower
• The Willis Tower is a skyscraper located in
Chicago, Illinois. In the early 1990s, the
building's concrete exterior began to crack
and spall due to corrosion of the reinforcing
steel. A major concrete repair project was un-
dertaken to replace damaged concrete and re-
inforce the building's exterior. The repair
work involved installing new steel reinforce-
ment, applying a protective coating to the ex-
terior, and using high-pressure water jets to
remove damaged concrete.

Incompatibility

In terms of composition, strength, and

coefficient of thermal expansion, the re-
pair material must be compatible with
the original concrete.
If the repair material used does not
match the original concrete in terms of
composition and strength, it may not
bond properly, leading to failure in its
strength, durability, and workability
 Project Admir

One of Lebanon's largest projects ever, Admir, is a rare residen-

tial gem nestled between Adma and Ghazir in a serene green
area with a panoramic landscape that oversees the scenic moun-
tains and the peaceful Jounieh bay.

Project Admir consists of 78 buildings and 639 apartments. This

project needed about 500 workers, including engineers, accoun-
tants and designers

plement it in projects to make sure their work is 100% efficient
