It is a procedure of cleaning the teeth when food


particles stuck between teeth where the approach
of the tooth brush becomes difficult.
Flossing is an important hygiene habit.
Plaque is a sticky film that builds on teeth.
Types of floss

Waxed Floss

Method of Flossing

 Take about 18 inch long floss string.


 Hold the floss between your thumb and
index finger.
 Wrap the floss around your index finger.
 Insert between your teeth.
 Curve the floss into a C-shape.
 Glide the floss up and down side of each
tooth to remove plaque and food
particles.
 Rinse your mouth with water.

 Once a day to remove food particles and plaque


for 30 seconds.
 Tooth brushing can clean 65% teeth but the
remaining can be cleaned with the help of
flossing.
