WHO ARE RMG • RMG stands for "Ready Made

WORKERS? Garments"
• They make most of the
clothing found in major
western supermarkets.
• They are mostly comprised of
young woman from ages 16 to
25.
• They work in large factories
and produce mass
amounts of clothing per hour
every day.
• Their working hours are
usually 15-20 hours per day
with barely any breaks in-
between.
Working Conditions (or lack These RMG workers are paid 11 to 17
cents per day (which are starvation

not a livable wage by any sort of
standard. Even though, they always
work overtime they don't get paid for it
and if they try to ask for their wages
that they worked for they get cursed,
beaten and imprisoned for exaggerated
charges.
Their working conditions are also
abysmal as they are packed into
cramped spaces with no room at all.
Some of the workers have to even work
of the floors. Due to the closed in nature
of the factories they inhale lots of dust
from all the clothing produced.

pump, and one gas stove with
multiple families.
• Due to scarcity of clean drinking
water, they often suffer from diarrhea
and dysentery
• However, they can't afford to go to a
doctor or even buy
medicines which means they get
more sick

products are low in price.
• They are efficient, skilled and
work long hours so lots of
clothing is produced.
• Employment in a relatively
