Purpose
• Structural drawing show the structural skeleton of the
building and appropriate details necessary for the
erection of the structure.

structural components and various notes containing an
information help full in understanding the drawings.

PURPOSE:-T o show the details reinforcement bars


in the footing.
-to show the amount, size, spacing and
locations of bars needed in footing.

footing.

how the bars are to be placed in the form or
footing profile).

• It shows beam in elevation and cross sections. In
addition it shows detail of Links and arrangement
of reinforcement bars. Dimensions for beam
lengths and spacing, column, size and lap lengths
will be given.
• In formations such as grid identification, bar
marks, quantity of bars, notes, stirrup
development with proper dimensions, bar
schedule and special joint details (If any) should
be given.

Structural drawing of a stair

1. Stair plan
Shows basic dimensions and references to other
details. Basic dimensions including stair width,
overall length, landing depth and length, levels,
width of thread and number of riser. Reference to
other details includes cutting plans of sections.
Other things such as direction of flight and notes
should be included.
2. section
It shows placement of bar along the stair waist and
number, size, spacing and length of bars. Detail
references will also be given on the sections.
