CHINA- PAKISTAN RELATION

1) How China-Pakistan forged ties countries.

- Official counter in 1950, developing diplomatic relation

- Pakistan Recognized People's Republic of China

- Growing Relation since early 2000s

- China aided Pakistan arms and materials along with economic aid

on the basis of existing cooperation
2) Significance of their relationship

- Pakistan extensively collaborated with military and economic

projects with China.


- China's constant record of supporting Pakistan in regional issues.

- Pakistan's heavy dependency on China's Military armaments .

- China provided blueprints to support Pakistan's nuclear program.

- Helped establishing ammunition factories, providing technological

assistance and modernizing existing facilities.


3) Military Relationship between China and Pakistan

- Pakistan is China's biggest arm buyer for counting 47% of Chinese arms
exports
- Both countries heavily involved in several projects to enhance military and
weapon systems.
- Development of JF-17 Thunder Fighter aircraft, K-8 Karakorum advance
training aircraft, and a tailor-made training for Pakistan's air force .
- In fact, China has designed tailor-made advanced weapons (South Asian
Region) .
-China's significant role in developing Pakistan's nuclear infrastructure .
- Pakistan purchased Chinese built (LOMADS) LY-80 for its air defense system .
- Their strategic relation over the years strengthened like no other.

 Future plans for CPEC - extension to
Afghanistan.
 China and Pakistan have been strategic partners for around 65 years
and have collaborated on military and economic projects. China is
Pakistan’s primary investor in the infrastructure, trade, defense, and
energy sectors. They also exported petroleum, vaccines, and
broadcasting equipment to Pakistan, which increased by 11% over the
last 26 years. China also supplies 47% of the military equipment of
Pakistan. To further boost their infrastructure projects that aim to
transform Pakistan’s economy and also allow China to access the
Arabian sea (OIL), and Indian ocean to open up new trade routes.
Furthermore, the two countries seek to expand the CPEC to
Afghanistan, benefiting all parties involved. China and Pakistan will be
able to get minerals from Afghanistan and meet their energy deficits,
and Afghanistan will be granted the opportunity to trade across the
connected countries and boost their economy, resulting in an improved
regional economic landscape.
FUTURE RELATIONS OF CHINA-PAK

Bilateral relations:

 One such example is Pakistan raised its voice over the human rights
violation committed by Indian force in Kashmir, which China gave
full support to.

 Military cooperation has been bolstered in recent years and is


continuing to do so which has been evident on multiple projects
related to the testing and bunch of many assets and equipment used by
the armed forces.

 Not only that, to strengthen Pak-China relations, China have also


decided to cooperate with eachother for the improvement of the civil
nuclear power sector in Pakistan.
Infrastructural Developments for CPEC:

 Splitting of roads from Khunjerab (situated in Northern Pakistan)


in more than one road and going all the way to Gwadar and
Karachi.

 At the very starting phase the route of China Pak Economic


Corridor was mapped out.

 Many expressways are being constructed and several roads are


being repaired- one of the main objectives of this massive project.

 The CPEC route has considered reconstruction of different sections


of the Karokaram Highway, N-30 Khuzdar Basima Road and
extension of Peshwar- Karachi Motorway from Multan to Sukkur.
Future progress in energy sector

 Noticeable progress has been shown in the energy sector of Pakistan


as a part of CPEC. Pak and China have mutually agreed on the
enhance use of technology in the field of energy production in
Pakistan. They are planning to use alternative resources that are clean,
natural and abundant for energy generation.

 Moreover, CPEC’s plans include hydropower, solar power and wind


energy projects. Some of the projects have been planned and under
construction, while others are completed and are yet to be operated.
They have also planned on the commercial use of nuclear power and
soon execute it.
