❖ ካ፦ ዐቢይ ውእቱ እግዚአብሔር በዕበዩ ❖ K: abīy wi’itu Igzī'abhier be-ibeyu
ቅዱስ በቅዳሴሁ እኩት በአኰቴቱ qidus be-qidasiehu ikut be-
ወስቡሕ በስብሐቲሁ። ቀዳማዊ ውእቱ akotietu we-sibuh be-sibhatīhu::
ዘኢይብልዎ እማእዜ ወማእከላዊ ውእቱ qedamawī wi’itu ze-īyibiliwo im-
i’izie we-maikelawī wi’itu ze-
ዘኢይብልዎ እስከ ይእዜ። ወደኃራዊ
īyibliwo iske y’izie::wedaharawī
ውእቱ ዘኢይብልዎ እስከ ይእዜ።
wi’itu ze-īyibliwo iske y’izie
❖ እግዚአብሔር ብአምላኽነቱ ዓቢይ እዩ። ❖ Pr: God is great in His greatness,
ብቕዳሴኡ ቕዱስ ብምስጋናኡ ምስጉን holy in His holiness, blessed in His
ብግርማኡ ኸአ ኽቡር እዩ። ካብዚ ንነጀው beatitude and glorified in His
ዘይብልዎ ጥንታዊ እዩ ክሳዕ ሎሚ glory. He is the first_ yet of Him it
ዘይብልዎ ማእከላዊ እዩ፡ ክሳዕ እብዚ እዩ is not asked, "When was His
ዘይብልዎ ዳኅረዋይ እዩ። beginning ?" With Him it is ever
"now." Yet of Him it is not asked,
"How long will He endure?"; And
He is the last. Yet of Him it is not
asked, "When will His end be?"

❖ ካ፦ አልቦ ጥንት ለህላዌሁ ወአልቦ ማኅለቀት ❖ K፦ albo Tint le-hilawiehu we-albo
ለክዋኔሁ አልቦ ኁልቍ ለመዋዕሊሁ ወአልቦ ሐሳብ mahleqet le-kiwaniehu albo hulqwu
ለዓመታቲሁ። ወአልቦ ርስዓን ለውርዛዌሁ ወአልቦ le-mewailīhu we-albo hasab le-
ሙስና ለመልክኡ ወአልቦ ጽልመት ለብርሃነ ገጹ። Ametatīhu:: we-albo ris’ane le-
አልቦ ድንጋግ ለባሕረ ጥበቡ ወአልቦ መስፈርት wirzawiehu we-albo musina le-melkiu
ለሣህለ ትእዛዙ አልቦ ዐቅም ለስፍሐ መንግሥቱ we-albo tsilmet le-birhane getsu:: albo
ወአልቦ ወሰን ለራኅበ ምኵናኑ። dingag le-bahre Tibebu we-albo
❖ ንህልውናኡ ጥንቲ ይብሉን ንዅነቱ ኸኣ ፍጻሜ mesfert le-sahile ti’zazu albo aqmi le-
የብሉን። ንዘመኑ ቍጽሪ የብሉን። ንዓመታቱ sifha mengistu we-albo wesin le-
ፍቕዲ የብሉን። ንውርዝውናኡ እርጋን የብሉን። rahibe mikunanu::
ንጽንዓት ኃይሉ ድኻም የብሉን። ንመልክዑ ድማ ❖ Pr: There is no beginning of His being,
ምድምሳስ የብሉን። ንብርሃን ገጹዉን ጽልመት there is no end of His existence, His
የብሉን። ንባሕሪ ጥበቡ ደረት የብሉን። ንትእዛዝ days are numberless and His years are
ይቕረታኡ መስፈሪ የብሉን። ንስፍሓት መንግሥቱ countless.His youth does not wax old,
መዓቀኒ የብሉን። ንስፍሓት ግዛኣቱውን ወሰን the strength of His power does not
የብሉን። diminish, His countenance is
incorruptible and the light of His face
cannot be dimmed. The sea of His
wisdom is unlimited, His merciful
commands are countless, the range of
His kingdom is immeasurable and His
spacious government is boundless.8
 ❖ K፦ siwur wi’itu ze-īyrekibiwo be-hilīna
❖ ካ፦ ሥዉር ውእቱ ዘኢይረክብዎ በሕሊና
we-miTuq wi’itu ze-īyTieyqwo be-
ወምጡቅ ውእቱ ዘኢይጤይቅዎ በልቡና ነዋኅ
libuna newah wi’itu ze-īybetsihiwo
ውእቱ ዘኢይበጽሕዎ አንሰርት ቀላይ ውእቱ
ansert qelay wi’itu ze-īytsebtiwo Asat::
ዘኢይፀብትዎ ዓሣት። ልዑል ውእቱ
li’ul wi’itu im-ariste adbar we-imuq
እምአርእስተ አድባር ወዕሙቅ ውእቱ
wi’itu im-imeqe bahr:: tsinu wi’itu ze-
እምዕመቀ ባሕር። ፅኑዕ ውእቱ ዘኢይትናስእዎ
īytnasiwo negest mewaī wi’itu ze-
ነገሥት መዋዒ ውእቱ ዘኢይትቃወምዎ
īytqawemiwo mekwanint::
መኳንንት።
❖ Pr: So invisible is He, that man cannot
❖ ብሕሊና ዘይረኸብዎ ሥዉር እዩ። ብልቦና
find Him by concepts, so lofty is He
ዘይምርምርዎ ረቂቕ እዩ። ንስርታት
that man cannot understand Him with
ዘይብጽሕዎ ልዑል እዩ። ዓሥታት
His heart, so high is He that the eagles
ዘይሕምብስዎ ቀላይ እዩ። ካብ ርእሲ
cannot reach Him, and so deep is He
እምባታት ልዑል እዩ። ላብ ዕምቈት ባሕሪ
that the fish cannot swim unto Him.He
ዝዓሞቐ እዩ። ነገሥታት ዘይለዓዓልዎ ጽኑዕ
is higher than the heads of the
እዩ። መኳንንቲ ዘይቃወምዎ ዕዉት እዩ።
mountains and deeper than the depth
of the sea. He is so strong that the
Kings cannot rise against Him, and He
is so victorious that the rulers cannot

stand against Him.
 ❖ K፦ Tebīb wi’itu ze-yahigul mikire
❖ ካ፦ ጠቢብ ውእቱ ዘያኅጉል ምክረ ጠቢባን Tebīban ma’imir wi’itu ze-yaresi hilīna
ማዕምር ውእቱ ዘያረስዕ ሕሊና መካርያን mekaryan hayl wi’itu ze-yifetih le-
ኃያል ውእቱ ዘይፈትሕ ልጓማተ ጽኑዓን gwuamate tsinuAn tebai wi’itu ze-
ተባዕ ውእቱ ዘያደቅቅ አስናነ ኃጥአን yadeqiq asnane haTian we-yiqeTeqiT
ወይቀጠቅጥ መዝራዕተ ዕቡያን። ክቡር mezraite ibuyan:: kibur wi’itu ze-yahisir
ውእቱ ዘያኅሥር ገጸ መደልዋን ከሀሊ getse medeliwan kehelī wi’itu ze-ya’atit
ውእቱ ዘያአትት ብርሃነ ረሲዓን። birhan resī’an::
❖ ምኽሪ ለባማት ዜጥፍእ ጥበበኛ እዩ። ሕሊና❖ Pr: He is so wise that He can destroy the
መኸርቲ ዜረስዕ ፈላጥ እዩ። ልጓም ጽኑዓት counsel of the wise, His omniscience is
ዚፈትሕ ኃያል እዩ። ኣስናን ኃጥአን such that He can make the thought of
ዜድቅቕን ቅልጽም ዕቡያት ዚቕጥቅጥን the counselors to be of no effect, He is
ተባዕ እዩ። ገጽ ግቡዛት ዜዋርድ ክቡር እዩ። so mighty that He can lose the bridle of
ብርሃን ኃጥኣን ዜርሕቕ ከኣሊ እዩ። the strong, and He is so courageous that
He can pulverize the teeth of sinners
and put down the arms of the
haughty.He is so honourable that He
can put to shame the face of the
hypocrites, and He is so mighty that He

can cast away the light of the filthy.
❖ካ፦ ዋሕድ ውእቱ ዘእንበለ ቢጽ ❖ K፦ wahid wi’itu ze-inbele
ወብሑት ውእቱ ዘእንበለ bīts we-bihut wi’itu ze-inbele
አዝማድ። ይትኃጐላ ሰማያት azmad:: yit’hagola semayat
ወትማስን የብስ ወኵሉ ይበሊ ከመ we-timasin yebsi we-kulu
ልብስ ውእቱሰ ውእቱ ክመ እስከ yibelī keme libs wi’ituse
ዓለም። wi’itu kme iske Alem
❖ብጻይ ዘይብሉ ሓደ እዩ ። ዘመድ ❖Pr: He is the only one without
ዘይብሉ በይኑ እዩ። ሰማያት equal, and He has absolute
ኪጠፍኣ እየን ምድሪውን ክትጠፍእ authority, without the help of
እያ። ኵሉ ድማ ኸም ክዳን ኪበሊ kinsmen. The heavens will be
እዩ። ንሱ ግና ክሳዕ ዘለዓለም ንሱ destroyed, and the land will
እዩ። vanish, and all will wax old
like a garment, but He is the
same for ever.

❖ ካ፦ መንክር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ተላህያ ፡ ለባሕር ፡ ❖ K፦ menkir wi’itu telahiya le-bahr
መንክርሰ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ menkirse igzī'abhier wi’itu be-
በአርያሙ ። አልቦ ፡ ዘይመስሎ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ aryamu:: albo ze-ymeslo we-albo
ዘይትዔረዮ ፡እምኵሉ ፡ ፍጥረት ፡ወእምኵሉ ze-yitiereyo im-kulu fiTret we-
፡ ደቂቀ ፡ አማልክት ፡ ባሕቲቱ ፡ አምላክ ፡ imkulu deqīqe amalikt bahtītu
ወባሕቲቱ ፡ እግዚእ ፡ ባሕቲቱ ፡ ፈጣሪ ፡ amlak we-bahtītu Igzīi bagtītu
ወባሕቲቱ ፡ ገባሪ ። feTarī we-bahtītu gebarī::
❖ ምምልላስ ባሕሪ መንክር እዩ ። መንክርሲ ❖ Pr: Wonderful is the movement
ኣብ ልዕልናኡ ዘሎ እግዚአብሔር እዩ ። ካብ of the sea, but more wonderful is
ኵሉ ፍጥረትን ካብ ደቂ ኣማልኽትን God in His highest heaven. None
ዚመዓራረዮን ዚመሳሰሎን የልቦን ። ኣምላኽ resembles Him and none
በይኑ እዩ ፡ ጐይታውን ንሱ በይኑ እዩ ። competes with Him from among
ፈጣሪ ድማ ንሱ በይኑ እዩ ። ሠራሒውን all the creatures and all the
ንሱ በይኑ እዩ ። children of gods. He Himself
alone is God, He Himself alone is
Lord, He Himself alone is creator
and He Himself alone is maker.12
❖ ካ፦ ኢየኀሥሥ ፡ መርድአ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኪን ፡ ❖ K፦ Īyehsis merd’a be-inte kĪn ze-
ዘሐለየ ፡ ወኢይፈቅድ ፡ መምክረ ፡ በእንተ ፡ haleye we-īyfeqid memkire be-inte
ምግባር ፡ ዘፈተወ ። የአምር ፡ ኵሎ እምቅድመ migbar ze-fetewe:: ye-amir kulo im-
፡ ይኩን ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ወዘኢተገብረ qidme yikun keme ze-kone qidme
፡ ከመ ፡ ዘተገብረ ። የሐትት ፡ ሕሊና ፡ እንዘ ፡ weze-ītegebre keme zete-gebre:: ye-
ኢይሴአል ፡ወይፈተን ፡ አልባበ ፡ እንዘ ፡ hatit; hilīna inze īyisieal we-yifeten
ኢየኀሥሥ ወይሬኢ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ጽልመት ፡ albobe inze īyehasis we-yirieī ze-wiste
ዘእንበለ ማኅቶት ። tsilmet ze-inbele mahtot;
❖ ነቲ ዝሓሰቦ ጥበብ ረዳኢ ኣይደልን ። ነቲ ❖ Pr: He does not seek a helper for the
ኺገብሮ ዝፈተወ ኸኣ መማኸሪ ኣይደልን ። ነቲ
plan He conceived, and He does not
ዝኾነ ኣቀዲሙ ኸይኮነ ኸሎ ከም ዝኾነ ገይሩ
want an adviser for the work He
ነቲ ዘይተገብረውን ከይተገብረ ኸሎ ኸም
ዝተገብረ ገይሩ ንዅሉ ይፈልጦ ። ከይሓተተ desired. He knows all things before
ሕሊና ይምርምር ፡ ከይመርመረውን ንልቢ they happen as if they had happened
ይፍትን ። ብዘይ መብራህቲ ድማ ኣብ ጸልማት before and that which has not
ዘሎ ይርኢ ። happened as if it had happened.He
inspects the mind without asking and
examines the hearts without
seeking, and sees in darkness without
light. 13
❖ ካ፦ ወየአምሮ ለጻድቅ ፡ እንበለ ፡ ❖ K፦ weye-amiro le-tsadiq
ይግበር ፡ጽድቀ ፡ ወይቤይኖ ለኃጥእ inbele yigber tsidqe we-
እንበለ ፡ ይግበር ኃጢአተ yibieyno le-haTi inbele yigber
ይሌብዎሙ ፡ ለልቡባን እንበለ haTīate yiliebiwomu le-libuban
ይፃኡ እምሐቄ ፡ አቡሆሙ ፡ inbele yiou im-haqie abhomu
ወይጤይቆሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ፡ we-yiTieyqomu līhaTan im-
እምከርሠ ፡ እሞሙ ። kerse imomu
❖ ንጻድቕ ጽድቂ ኸይገበረ ይፈልጦ ። ❖ Pr: He knows the righteous
ንኃጥእ ከኣ ኃጢኣት ከይገበረ before they do righteousness,
ይብይኖ ። ንለባማት ካብ ሕቘ He judges the sinners before
ኣቦኦም ከይወፁ ይፈልጦም፡ they commit sin, He
ንኃጥኣን ድማ ካብ ማኅፀን ኣዲኦም understands the prudent
ከይወፁ ይርድኦም ። before they go out from their
fathers' loins and understands
the sinners from their
mothers' wombs. 14
❖ ካ፦ አልቦ ፡ ዘይትኀብኦ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ❖ K፦ albo ze-yithabo Ta’albo
ዘይሤወሮ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘይትከበት ፡ ze-yisiewero we-albo ze-
እምኔሁ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ክሡት ፡ በኀቤሁ ፡
ወኵሉ ፡ ስጡሕ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ አዕይንቲሁ
yitkebet im-niehu kulu kisut
፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጽሑፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፉ ፡ be-habiehu we-kulu siTuh
ወኵሉ ፡ ጽውዕ ፡ በሕሊናሁ ። qidme a’iyntīhu kulu tsihuf
❖ ዚኀብኦ የልቦን ፡ ዚሥወሮውን የልቦን wiste metshafe we-kulu
። ካብኡ ዚኽወል ድማ የልቦን ። tsiwi be-hilīnahu
ብእኡ ዅሉ ግሁድ እዩ ። ኣብ
❖ Pr: Nothing is hidden,
ቅድሚኡ ኸኣ ዅሉ ስጡሕ እዩ ። ኵሉ
ኣብ መጽሓፉ ጽሑፍ እዩ ። ኵሉውን nothing is concealed
ብሕሊናኡ ጽውዕ እዩ ። nothing is invisible to Him,
all is open unto Him, all is
spread before His eyes, all
is written in His book, and
all is present to His mind.

❖ ካ፦ ይገብር ፡ ዐቢያተ ፡ዘአልቦ ፡ ኍልቍ ፡
ክብራተ ፡ ወመንክራተ ፡ ዘአልቦ ፡ዐሠር ።
ዕፁብ ፡ ግብሩ ፡ አምዘርኢነ ፡ ወመንክር ፡
ኃይሉ ፡ እምዘሰማዕነ ፡ ወመድምም ፡
ስብሐቲሁ ፡ እምዘነገሩነ ። ውእቱ ፡ ገብረ ፡
ብርሃነ ፡ እምጽልመት ፡ ወየአምር ፡ ፈሊጦቶ ፡
ለደመና ፡ ይከፍሎ ፡ ለማይ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ፈቀደ ፡
ወይሤውር ኀሩያነ ፡ በደመና ።
❖ ቍጽሪ ዘይብሎም ዓበይቲ ነገራትን ዘይምርመሩ
ክብራትን መንክራትን ይገብር ። ካብ ዝረአናዮ ❖ Pr: He does the great, countless,
ግብሩ ዕፁብ እዩ ። ካብ ዝሰምዓንስዮ ኸኣ
ኃይሉ መንክር እዩ። ምስጋናኡውን ካብቲ
ዝነገሩና ንላዕሊ መስደምም እዩ ። ካብ ጸልማት
ፈልዩ ብርሃን ዝፈጠረ ንሱ እዩ ። ምፍላይ
ደመና ይፈልጥ ። ንማይ ከኣ ኸም ፍቓዱ
ይኸፍሎ ። ንኀሩያቱ ብደመና ይሥውር ።

honourable and marvellous deeds
which are inscrutable . His works
are more wonderful than we can
comprehend.His power is more
marvelous than anything we have
heard and His glory is more
astonishing than any had told us.He
made light out of darkness, He
knows how to divide clouds, He
divides water at His pleasure and

❖ ካ፦ ሣረራ ፡ ለምድር ፡ ወሠርዐ ፡ አምጣኒሃ ፡ ወተከለ ❖ K፦ sarera le-midr we-sera amTanīha
፡ ከመ ፡ወኢምንት ፡ ሕላቃቲሃ ፡ ወአስተኀደረ ፡ we-tekele keme we-īmint hilaqatīha we-
መዓዝኒሃ ። ሐፀራ ፡ ለባሕር ፡ በአናቅጽ ፡ አመ ፡ astehadere me’aznīha hatsera le-bahr
ወፅአት ፡ እምከርሠ ፡ እማ ፡ ወረሰየ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ደመና ፡ be-anaqits ame we-tsiat im-kerse ima
ልብሳ ፡ ወበጊሜ ፡ ጠብለላ ። ወገብረ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ወሰና ፡ we-reseye latī demena libsa webe-gīmie
ወሤመ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ መዓፁተ ፡ ወመናሥግተ ። Teblela we-gebre latī we-sena we-Tieme
ወይቤላ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዝየ ፡ ብጽሒ ፡ ወኢትትዐደዊ ፡ wistieta meAtstute we-menasigte we-
እምወሰንኪ ፡ ዳእሙ ፡ ይትከወስ ፡ ማዕበልኪ ፡ yibiela iske ziye bitshī we-ītitadewī im-
በውስቴትኪ ። wesankī daimu yikewes maibelkī be-
❖ ንምድሪ ፈጠራ ፡ መጠና ኸኣ ሠርዐ ። ፍጻሜኣውን wistietikī
ከም ኢምንት ተኸለ ። መኣዝናውን ኣጽንዐ ። (ኢዮብ
❖ Pr: He built the earth and prepared its
38 ፡ 4 - 6 ) ንባሕሪ ኻብ ከብዲ ኣዲኣ ምስ ወዐት
boundaries, and established its ends in
ብመዓጹ ሓጸራ ። ክዳና ኸኣ ደመና ገበረላ ፡ (መዝ ፻፬
፡ ፱) ብግመውን ጠቕለላ ። ወሰን ገበረላ ። ኣብ the way He saw, and strengthened its
ውሽጣ ኸኣ መዓጹን መሽጐርን ሸመላ ። ክሳዕ እዚ comers.He fenced the sea with doors
ብጽሒ ፡ ካብ ወሰንኪ ኣይትኀለፈ ። ማዕበልኪ ኣብ when it went out of its mother's womb,
ውሽጥኺ ደኣ ይካወስ ፡ በላ ። (ኢዮብ 38 ፡ 8 - 11) He made the clouds to be its clothes,
and wrapped it with mist, He limited it
and put into it doors and locks and said
to it, "Reach here and do not go
beyond your limit, but your storm will
move within you. 17

እምድር ፡ ወፈጠረ ዘሕያው ፡ ወረሰዮ ፡ ይትናገር ፡ nesa ibire imidr we-feTere ze-hiyaw we-
ዲበ ፡ ምድር ። ውእቱ ፡ በጽሐ ፡ እስከ ፡ አጽናፈ ፡ reseyo yitger dībe midr:: wi’itu bitsha
ባሕር ፡ ወአንሶሰወ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዐሠረ ፡ ቀላይ ። ሎቱ ፡ iske atsnafe bahr we-ansosewe wiste
ይትረኀዉ ፡ አናቅጸ ፡ ሞት ፡ እምግርማሁ ፡ asere qelay lotu yitrehiw anaqits mot im-
ወአጸውተ ፡ ሲኦል ፡ ይደነግፁ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ርእይዎ ። girmahu we-atsewite sī’ol yidengu im-

ወዘይከውን ፡ በመልዕልተ ፡ ሰማይ ።

❖ ኣብ ልዕሊኣ ድማ ብርሃን ወጋሕታ ተሠርዐ ። ኮኾብ semay::
ጽባሕውን ትእዛዙ ፈለጠ ። (ኢዮብ 38 ፡ 7) ንሱ
ኻብ ምድሪ ጭቃ ኣልዓለ ሕያው ዝኾነ ሰብ ፈጠረ ። ❖ Pr: The light of dawn was arranged over
ኣብ ልዕሊ ምድሪ ድማ ከም ዚዛረብ ገበሮ ። ንሱ it, and the morning star knew His
ክሳዕ ወሰን ባሕሪ በጽሐ ። ኣብ ጽፍሒ ቐላይውን commandment. He took mud from the

ይድንግጹ ። ንሱ ኣብ ትሕቲ ሰማይ ዘሎ ራሕብን ፡ paths of the deep. Out of terror, the gates
ኣብ ልዕሊ ሰማይ ዚኸውንን ይፈልጥ ። of death will be opened to Him, and the
gatekeepers of hell will be afraid as soon
as they see Him. He knows the
spaciousness under heaven and that

አልቦ ሰብአ ወኢይነብሮ እጓለ እመሕያው። dimu keme yiznim bihiere habe albo
ውእቱ ዐቀመ ሙሐዘ ማይ ወያርኁ ክረምተ sema we-īyanebiro igwale im-hiyaw::
በበዓመት ወያመጽኦ ለሐጋይ ድኅረ በዕድሜሁ። wi’itu aqeee muhaze may we-yarhu
ውእቱ ይጼዉዖ ለደመና በቃሉ ወያወሥኦ ማይ kiremte bebe-Amet we-yametso le-
እንዘ ይርዕድ። hagay dihre be-idmiehu:: wi’itu
yitsiewuo le-demena be-qalu we-
❖ ብትእዛዙ ካብ መዝገቡ ጣቓ ይወፅእ። አብ
ትሕቲ ሰማይ ዘሎ ንፋስ ደቡብ ከኣ ይመላለስ። yawesio may inze yirid::
ንዝናም ሰብ ኣብ ዘይብሉን ደቂ ሰብ ኣብ ❖ Pr: Through His commandment frost
ዘይነብረሉን ኪዘንም ኣብ ምድረ በዳ የጽንዖ። comes out of its treasure and the wind
ንሱ መውሓዝ ማይ መደበ። በብዓመቱ ድማ blows under heaven. He leads the rain
ክረምቲ የርሑ። ብድኅሪኡ ኸኣ ንሓጋይ ብጊዜኡ along the way of the wilderness to fall
የምጽኦ። ንሱ ንደመና ብቓሉ ይጽውዖ። ማይ ከኣ on the country where there is no man
እናረዓደ ይምልሰሉ። and wherein mortal man does not live.
He established the course of water and
opens the winter every year and brings
the summer back in its due time. He
calls the clouds with His word and
water answers Him trembling.

❖ ካ፦ ውእቱ ይፌንዎ ለዐዓዕ ወየሐውር ❖ K፦ wi’itu yifieniwo niwo le-a’ai
ወይሠጠዎ እንዘ ይብል ምንት ውእቱ። we-yihawir we-yiseTewo inze
ውእቱ ይኌልቆ ለደመና በጥበቡ ወያጸንኖ yibil mint wi’itu:: wi’itu yihielqo
ለሰማይ ዲበ ምድር። ውእቱ ባሕቲቱ ለብሰ le-demena be-Tibebu we-
ኃይለ አርያም ወተረሰየ በስብሐት yatsenino le-semay dībe midr::
ወበክብር። wi’itu bahtītu lebse hayle aryam
we-treseye be-sibhat we-
❖ ንሱ ንመስመስታ ይልእኮ። መስመስታውን bekibr::
ይኸይድ እሞ እንታይ እዩ ኸኣ ይብል። ንሱ
❖ Pr: He sends the thunderbolt
ብጥበቡ ንደመና ይቘጽሮ። ንሰማይ ከኣ ኣብ
and it goes and answers Him
ልዕሊ ምድሪ የቕንኖ። ንሱ በይኑ ኣርያማዊ
saying "What shall I do?" He
ኃይሊ ለበሰ። ብምስጋናን ብኽብርን ከኣ counts the clouds through His
ተሰለመ። wisdom and suspends the
heaven over the earth. He
alone puts on the power of the
highest heaven and is adorned
with glory and honour. 20

አውሥኦ ቅዱስ ቅዱስ ቅዱስ እግዚአብሔር we-yiblu kulomu habīromu be-
ጸባዖት ፍጹም ምሉዕ ሰማያት ወምድረ ቅድሳተ ahadu qal awsio qidus qidus qidus
ስብሐቲከ። igzī'abhier tsebaot fitsum milu
❖ እሳታውያን ኪሩቤልን ብርሃን ዝልብሶም semayat we-midre qidisate
ሱራፌልን ብዘይዓርፍ ቃልን ስቕ ብዘይብል sibhatīke::
ኣፍን ብዘይደክም ልሳንን ንእኡ ይቕድሱ። ❖ Pr: Him hallow the fiery cherubim
ኵሎም ድማ ሓቢሮም ብሓደ ቓል ምልልስ and the seraphim dressed in light
“ቅዱስ ቅዱስ ቅዱስ ጐይታ ሠራዊት ምስጋናኻ with ceaseless words and a mouth
ሰማይን ምድርን ምሉእ እዩ” ይብሉ። which does not keep silent and a
tongue which does not tire; and all
say together with one voice
answering Holy, holy, holy, perfect
Lord of hosts, heaven and earth are
full of the holiness of Thy glory.21

ደመናት ሐዋርያቲሁ ወነፋሳት ሠረገላቲሁ tsehay zīahu we-werha lotu we-
ወእሳተ ዐረፍተ ቤቱ። kewakibt tegbare idewīhu demenat
❖ ኵሉ ኻብኡ እዩ ኵሉ ድማ ብእኡ እዩ። hawariyatīhu we-nifasate
ኵሉውን ናቱ እዩ ። ሰማይ ብእኡ እዩ። ሰማየ seregelatīhu we-isate arefte bietu::
ሰማያትውን ናቱ እዩ። ራሕቢ ኣርያም መንበር ❖ Priest: All is from Him, all is for His
ክብሩ እዩ። ስፍሓት ምድሪውን መርገጽ እግሩ sake, and all is His. Heaven is His,
እዩ። ፀሐይ ናቱ እያ። ወርኅውን ካብኡ እያ። and the heaven of heavens is His.
ክዋኽብቲ እውን ግብሪ ኣእዳዉ እዮም። The breadth of the highest heaven
ደመናት ሓዋርያት። ሠረገላታቱ ኸኣ ንፋሳት is the throne of His glory, and the
እዩም። ግድግዳ ቤቱ እውን ሓዊ እዩ። wide earth is His footstool. The sun
is His, the moon is His, and the
stars are the work of His hands.
Clouds are His messengers, winds

አፍላግ ቅኑያቲሁ ቍር ወአስሐትያ ገባርያነ nibabu qale negodgwadu be-

❖ ስንቀ ቤቱ ማይ እዩ። ጸፍጽፍ ዙርያኡ ሰሌዳ aflag qinuyatīhu qur we-ashatiya
በረድ እዩ። ድንኳናቱ ድማ ብርሃናት እዩ። gebariyane simretu::
ናይ መሠወሪኡ መጋረጃውን ብርሃን መብረቕ ❖ Pr: Water is the roof of His house,
እዩ። መመላለሲኡ ኣብ ኣየራት እዩ። ድምፂ the gables of it are snow, light is
ንባቡውን ብመስመስታ እዩ። ቃል ነጐድጓዱ His tabernacle, the lightning of
ኸኣ ኣብ ሠረገላታት ኣሎ። ባሕሪ ገረዱ glory is the veil of His hiding-place,

feqed yaitsib le-zehī mehare yimharo
ይሣሃሎ። wele-zehī tesahale yisahalo::
❖ ከምቲ ዝሓስቦ ይገብር። ከምቲ ዝጀመሮ ኸኣ❖ Priest: He does according to His thought,
ይፍጽም። ከምቲ ዝፈቐዶውን የከናውን። completes what He began, orders
የኽፍእ የጸብቕ ከኣ። የድኪ የሀብትም የሕስር according to His will. He makes sad and
የኽብር ይቕትል የድኅን የድዊ የሕዊ። ይዅንን gives pleasure, impoverishes and
የጽድቕ እዩ። ንዝፈቐደ ይምሕሮ ንዝደለዮ ኸኣ enriches, dishonours and honours, kills
የጨንቖ። ንዝመሕሮ ይምሕሮ ይቕረ and quickens, makes sick and heals,
ንዚብለሉውን ይቕረ ይብለሉ። judges and justifies.He spares him whom
He wills to spare, He distresses him
whom He wills to distress, He will have
mercy on whom He will have mercy, will
have compassion on whom He will have
compassion. 28

ዘእንበለ አሥዋክ። inbele maiqfa we-aser nitsuh ze-
❖ ብዘይምኽልካል ወሃባይ ንፍገት ዘይብሉ inbele aswake::
ለጋስ። ብዘይ ቂምን ቅንኣትን ኃዳግ ❖ Pr: He is the giver without
ኃጢኣት። ንዚጽውዕዎ ቐረባ እዩ። ነቶም hindrance, gracious without stint,
ዚፈርህዎ እውን ርሕው ማዕፆ እዩ። the forgiver of sin without revenge
ዕንቅፋት ዘይብሉ ንጹሕ ጥጡሕ ጎደና እዩ። or envy. He is near unto those who
call upon Him , benefactor unto
እሾኽ ዘይብሉ ንጹሕ መገዲ እዩ።
those who fear him, He is the open
door unto those who knock for Him,
the prepared way without a
stumbling-block and the pure path

ደም ኣቤል ጀሚሩ ካሳዕ ደም ዘካርያስ ወዲ ❖ Pr: He alone is God, the God of

ከምዝረሓዉ ግበረልና እምነት us the grace of the Holy

❖ ክርስቶስ ኣምላኽና ኣብ ኢየሩሳሌም❖ Asst. Pr: give gifts of
ሰማያዊት ዋጋኦምኪ ኸፍሎም incense, and bread and
ብዕጣን ብቝርባን ብወይኒ ብሜሮን wine, and ointment and oil,
ብመብራህቲ ብመጋረጃ and hangings and reading
ብመጻሕፍቲ ምንባባት ብኣቕሑ books and vessels for the
ቤተ መቕደስ ንዚሓልዩ ባርኽ sanctuary, that Christ our
God may give them their
reward in the heavenly
Jerusalem.

ንምርካብ ኣብዚ ምሳና ተኣኪቦም ❖ Asst. Pr: all them that are

ቅድሚ መፍርህን መደንገጽን entreat for mercy: Christ

በምሕረትከ adhinomu be-mihretike
❖ ንዝተጨነቐት ሰብነት ኵላ ❖ Asst. Pr:And comfort
ኣሓጕሳ በጽኑዕ ማእሰርቲ every straitened soul,
ንዝተኣስሩን ኣብ ስደትን ኣብ they who are in chains,
ምርኮን ንዘለውን ብመሪር and they who are in
መግዛእቲ ንዝተታኀዙን ኦ exile or captivity. And
ኣምላክና ብምሕረትካ them that are held in
አድኅኖም። bitter servitude, our God,
deliver them in Thy

ወኃይለ ዲበ ዝንቱ ኅብስት ወላዕለ ዝ ጽዋዕ
ይረስዮ ለዝንቱ ኅብስት ጊዜ ሥጋ ዚአከ
ቅዱስ ወለዝ ጽዋዕ። ደመ ገቦከ ነባቤ።
❖ ኦ መፍቀር ሰብ ጐይታናን ኣምልኽናን
ንሕናውን ኣብ ልዕሊ እዚ ኅብስቲ እዝን
እዚ ጽዋዕ እዝን ቅዱስ መንፈስን ኃይልን
ክትሰድልና ካብ ሕያውነትካ ንደልን
ንልምንን ንምሕጸንን ኣሎና። ነዚ ኅብስቲ
እዚ ቅዱስ ሥጋኻ ነዚ ጽዋዕ እዚ ኸኣ
ዚዛረብ ደም ጐንኻን ይግበሮ።

ኣዕዋፍ ሰማይ እውን ተኃብአት ንእኣ ❖
and it is hidden from all the
ዘጥረዩ ምስ እግዚኣብሔር
birds of heaven. Those who
ተዓራረኹ: ንእአ ዚጸልኡ ኸአ ሞት
possess it gain friendship
ይፈትዉ። ካብ ፀሐይን ካብ ኵሉ with God, and those who
ንብረት ከዋኽብትን ትደምቕ hate it love death. It is more
beautiful than the sun and all
the concourse of stars.

ትትቃወም ትትረከብ ከመ titqawem titrekeb keme
ቀዳሚት ይእቲ። ወእንዘ በርሥዕ qedamīt yi’itī we-inze
ሀለወት ኵሎ ትሔድስ bersi’i halewet kulo
ወበበትውልድ ውስተ ነፍስ tihiedis webebe-tiwlid
ጻድቃን ትትፋለስ። wiste nefs tsadqan titfalis
❖ ምስ ብርሃን እናተነጻጸረት ከኣ ንሳ ❖Pr: It is compared with
ኽም ቀዳመይቲ ኾይና ትርከብ።
the Light because it was
ኣብ እርጋን ካላ ንዅሉ ትሕድስ
በብትውልዲውን ናብ ነፍሲ
in the beginning. Though
ጻድቃን ትመሓላለፍ።
it is in the old, it renews
all: and in every
generation, it enters into
the souls of the

ክብር ኢመጠና ላቲ ምክር ወእዘዝ። ወላቲ ጽንዐ izez we-latī tsina we-a’imiro we-
ወአእምሮ ወባቲ ነገሥት ይነግሡ ወባቲ ኃያላን batī negest yinegisu we-batī
ይጽሕፉ ጽድቀ። ባቲ ዐቢያን ይከብሩ ወባቲ hayalan ytshafu tsdiqe batī ibīyan
መኳንንት ይእኅዙ ምድረ። እለ ያፈቅርዋ ታፈቅር yikebiru we-batī mekwanint yiihizu
ወእለ የዐቅብዋ ተዕቅብ ወእለ ኪያሃ የኅሥሡ midre ile yafeqriwa tafeqir we-ile
ይረክቡ ሞገስ። ye’aqibiwa te’iqib we-ile kīyaha
❖ ንሳ ካብ ክቡር ዕንቍ ትበልጽ። ኵሉ ኽብሪ yehasisu yirekibu mogese
ኣይመዛዘናን እዩ። ምኽርን ትእዛዝን ናት እዩ።
ጽንዓትን ኣእምሮን እውን ናታ እዩ። ነገሥታት ❖ Pr: It is better than rubies; and all
ብእኣ ይነግሡ። ኃያላት እውን ብእኣ ጽድቂ honour is not to be compared to it.
ይጽሕፉ። ዓበይቲ ብእኣ ይኸብሩ መኳንንቲ It has counsel and power, strength
ብእኣ ርስቲ መንግሥተ ሰማያት ይወርሱ። and knowledge, by it kings reign,
ንዜፍቅርዋ ተፍቅር ንዚሕልውዋ ትሕሉ። ንእኣ and the powerful decree justice.
ዚደልዩ ኸኣ ሞገስ ይረኽቡ። By it the great are honoured, and
by it the rulers take hold of the
earth. It loves them that love it. It
keeps them that keep it, and
those that seek it find favour.

ንመዛግብቶም ተድላ ኽትመልእን ብኣሠር ጽድቀ righteousness and moves about in
ትመላለስ። እቲ ንዅሉ ዚፈልጥ ንሱ ይፈልጣ እቲ the path of righteousness to grant
ንዅሉ ዚምርምር ንሱ መገዳ ኣቕንዐ ንሱ them that know it riches and to fill
ንያዕቆብ ፈታዊኡን ንእስራኤል ቅዱስን ሃቦ። their treasuries with rejoicing.He who
ብድኅርዚ ኣብ ምድሪ ተራእየት ከም ሰብ እውን knows all knows it, and He who
ተመላለሰት። understands all beautifies its way.
He gave it to his servant Jacob and
to his holy Israel. Afterwards, it
appeared on the earth and walked
like man.

❖ ካ፦ ናሁ ሐነጸት ላቲ ቤተ ወቀዐመት ፯ተ
አዕማደ ዘብሐት ዘዚአሃ ጥብሐ ወቶስሐተ ውስተ
ስያሓ ዘዚአሃ ወይነ ወአስተዳለወት ዘዚአሃ
ማዕደ። ፈነወት ዘዚአሃ አግብርተ በነዋኅ ስብከት
እንዘ ትብል ዘአብድ ውእቱ ይትገሃሥ ኅቤየ።
ወለእለሂ የሐጾሙ አእምሮ ትጼውዕ እንዘ ትብል
ንሥኡ ብልዑ ኅብስትየ ወስተዩ ወይንየ ወኅድግዋ
ለእበድ ወሕየዉ።
❖ እንሆ ንገዛእ ርእሳ ቤት ሓነጸት ሾብዓተ ኣዕኑዳ
ኸኣ ኣቖመት። ስብሕታ ሓረደት ናይ ገዛእ ርእሳ
ወይኒ ኣብ ገንኣ ዘለለት ማእዳውን ኣሰናድአት። ❖ Pr: Behold she has built a house for
ኣገልገልታ ብነዊኅ ስብከት “ፍልጠት ዘይብሉ
ናባይ የልግስ” እናበለት ለኣኸት። ነቶም ኣእምሮ
ዝጐደሎም ከኣ ኅብስተይ ብልዑ ወይነይውን
ስተዩ ድንቍርና ኃዲግኩም ብሕይወጥ ንበሩ።
እናበለት ጸወዐት።

understanding, she says to him,
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of
my wine, forsake the foolish and live.

ዘቤዘወነ በጥብሐ ሥጋሁ wi’itu ze-biezewen be-
ወተሣየጠነ በንዝኅተ ደሙ Tibiha sigahu we-
ወኀረየነ ለመንግሥቱ ለዓለመ tesayeTene be-nizhite
ዓለም። demu we-hareyene le-
ጥበብ ዝተባህለ ግና ብጥብሓት mengsitu le-Alem Alem
ሥጋኡ ዝተብጀወናን ብምፍሳስ❖Pr: But wisdom is our
ደሙ ዝተሻየጠናን ንዘለዓለም Saviour Who redeemed
ዓለም ንመንግሥቱ ዝኃረየናን us with the sacrifice of
መድኃኒና እዩ። His body, and bought us
with the sprinkling of His
blood, and chose us for
His kingdom for ever.
