• In all these are some of the traditional farming practiced done locally in zambia and below are some of factors discused in details
• 1.climate which happen to be the greatest deciding factor rainfall and tempreture are important element affecting crops like rice e.t.cthat require a lot of
water
• 2Relief: the increase in altitude exclude crops suited for flat land to grow
• 3.soil which makes or form the physical support for plants also affecting farming depending the type of soil characteristics or ability to absorb water
• 4.Biotic factor which include agents like weed parasite and other various dieases
• 5.Economics factor that are highly related to the cast of raninng and maintaining a farm,

1 Intensive Substance farming Or Agriculture

• ~It is also called peasent farming but intensively done ,

• ~there is mostly little or no excess produce for export hence some geograghers refer to this type of farming as oriental agriculture or farming

• 2. plantation agriculture or farming

• ~this is the cultivation of tropical raw materials in large estates or plantation barely or purely for export,
• 3.Extensive machanised cereal cultivation.
• ~AII stage of cultivation under this type of farming from ploughing to the harvesting are done by machines and the total production is great,
• 4.Pastoral farming.

ADVANTAGES OF FARMING
• SORUCE OF Food
• It is the major source livelihood for over 1million of the world population
• It produces fibres and raw materials for factories on which a large portion of the remaining people depend,s
• It promote trade i.e fruits, vegetables, clothes, tools and other agriculture products are sold at trading centre e.g
chirundu and nakonde
• Farming on large scale creators employment for those working the fields,

• DISADVANTAGE OF FARMING.

• Lack of useful skills such as traditional chitemene that involves burning trees destroys the land and home for
those in soil.
• Cutting or clearing trees couse deforestation that leads to soil erosion.
• Pollution due to burning of trees

• 5
CHALLENGAS
• Though farming is an ancient way of survival and is great significancy below are
some of the challenges it brings:

• _Soil Erosion
• _Displacement natural home of plant and homes
• _Poor distribution of inputs affecting especially small scales famers
• _Poor marketing of produced crops
• -Low yields due to undelivered inputs.
• All in this are some of the challenges affecting both the eviroment and production.

• 6
RECCOMMENDATION
In order to reduce or minimize on the challenges the following must be
put in place
• ADEQUATELY giving farmers proper farming skills
• Contour ploughing to return moistain and avoid soil erosion
• Crop rotation to restore and place nutrients
• Irrigation supplying addition water especially during droughts
• Organic farming use of leguminous plants to fertilise soil e.g velvet
beans,and ther leguments
• Therefore with this in place the farming sector will be positively elevate.

• 7
CONLUSION
All in all despite farming being highly associated
with things like soil erision and other related
constraints or challenges we cannot do without
farming the best we can do is practice farming in
effective ways.
