Rationale

🞂 The Philippines, known as the fourth most disaster-

prone country in the world, has been doubling and
tripling its efforts to mitigate and reduce the impacts of
disasters.
🞂 The DILG, as the Vice Chair for Disaster Preparedness,
is one of the government agencies in the Philippines
that advance the development of advocacy programs
which aims to help and build disaster prepared and
resilient local government units and communities.
Rationale
🞂 In 2014, the DILG formulated Operation L!STO, a
national advocacy program in disaster preparedness.
🞂 Operation L!STO has 3 components:
◦ L!STONG Pamahalaang Lokal (LGUs)
◦ L!STONG Pamayanan (Community)
◦ L!STONG Pamilyang Pilipino (Family)
Rationale
🞂 In coordination with DSWD, the DILG localizes the
Operation L!STO to the most vulnerable families,
specifically the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
(4Ps) beneficiaries.
🞂 It aims to integrate Operation L!STO to the Family
Development Session so that the 4Ps beneficiaries will
be capacitated and can be a L!STONG Pamilyang
Pilipino.
Objectives of L!STONG Pamilyang Pilipino

🞂 The program aims to strengthen community-based

disaster risk reduction to the most vulnerable
communities and households in the Philippines,
particularly the 4Ps beneficiaries
Objectives of L!STONG Pamilyang Pilipino

🞂 Specifically, it aims to:

• Support the CCT Program of the DSWD through tapping
DILG personnel or representatives as resource speakers
during Family Development Sessions;
• Encourage CCT beneficiaries to observe disaster family
preparedness and planning at home;
• Produce Disaster Family Action Plans;
• Encourage CCT families to practice being alert and ready
