HOSPITALITY?
• Derived from the Latin
word “Hospitalitas”.
• It can refer to as a
deliberate effort to
establish mutual
understanding between an
organization and the
public.

• Is under the umbrella of a larger
industry known as the Travel and
Tourism Industry.
• Consists of Lodging and Food &
Beverage operations.
• One of the major sources of revenue
and employment in the Philippines as
well as other countries.

atmosphere.
• Mostly nestled away from the hustle
and bustle of the city.

• An establishment catering to transients


but does not meet the minimum
requirements to be categorized as an
economy hotel.
• Offers limited services & amenities.

APARTELLE

• An establishment with furnished or


semi-furnished apartments leased to
tourists & travelers for a longer or
shorter term of stay.
• Offers more space and homelike living
environment compared to a standard
hotel.

PENSION HOUSES

• A private or family operated boarding


house, guest house or lodging house.
• Mostly employs domestic helpers that
are non-professional.

• Also known as “Motor Hotels”.


• Designed for travelers who seek a
place to spend the night or simply take
a rest during long travel.

is affiliated an existing chain of hotels.
• Owner pays a franchise fee to the
chain’s management.

• Can be occupied by 2 person.


• Usually has 2 separate single sized
bed.

• Can be assigned to 2 people with one


double or queen sized bed.
• Usually has a conjoined bed.
