Identifying the air conditioner
maintenance and care tips.
Air Conditioning Maintenance.
• Regular maintenance of
the air conditioning system
is essential to prevent
illness, reduce electricity
consumption, avoid costly
repairs and ensure optimal
equipment performance.
Air conditioning tips and care.
• Clean air conditioning filters
• The filters contained in air conditioning equipment filter the air by
absorbing dust and pollen particles to prevent them from reaching
the environment and keeping the air clean.
• Open the air conditioning cover, behind the grille we find the air
conditioning filters. They will have to be removed to clean the air
conditioning filters.
• You have two options: clean them with a vacuum cleaner to remove
any dust and dirt that may be present, or use cold water to clean
them completely. In this case, let them dry in the shade, never in the
sun to avoid deformations (then they might not fit back into the
device).
• Once clean, the air conditioning filters are reinserted into the air
conditioning unit in the same position and the air conditioning unit
will be ready to operate.
Split drain cleaning.
• Using air conditioning equipment in cold mode
causes an evaporation process to occur inside
the indoor unit, causing a few drops of water to
accumulate within the system. The drain is a thin
tube through which water falls under its own
weight. If it is not cleaned from time to time, the
accumulated water could cause bad odors, the
appearance of bacteria or cause malfunctions.
For this reason, it is advisable to drain the
equipment from time to time.
General cleaning of the indoor unit.
• To ensure its correct operation, prevent
the proliferation of bacteria but also to
maintain the aesthetics of the
equipment, it is advisable to
superficially clean the indoor unit, using
appropriate products (non-abrasive). A
solution of water with 10% bleach and a
spray with a synthetic cloth can be used
for this purpose.
Outdoor unit maintenance.
• The outdoor unit contains some of the main
technical components of the air
conditioning: compressor, exchanger,
refrigerant... Outdoor units are almost
always placed outdoors, so it is advisable
to check them and clean them superficially
on a regular basis so that there is no
accumulation of dirt and ensure that no
external agent is obstructing the air
passage or fan grilles.
Check refrigerant leaks.
• It is necessary to ensure that refrigerant
leaks do not occur in the air conditioning
unit. This operation must always be
carried out by an installer who has a
certificate for handling fluorinated gases.
We remind you to always use qualified
installers who meet all the certifications
required for the installation of air
conditioning equipment.
