 The ARK was captured.
 The people are in need of a new leader.
 Already, in other places, Monarchs are in
place.
So…

The Israelites needed a

King!

They wanted a structured

Israel!
So…

God appointed
Samuel, a judge, to
find for a king!
So again…

Samuel anointed
SAUL!
The reign of King Saul

Turned out to be a
valiant warrior-king.
He ruled for forty
years or so.
The fall of King Saul

 He became arrogant before God

and man
 “Power-craver-turned-power-
spoiled man”
 Murdered because of his
boastfulness.

Israel
