Form:
S + was/ were + V-ing
Affirmative:
Ex: I was dreaming of the past.

S+ wasn’t + V-ing
Negative:
weren’t
Ex: I wasn’t dreaming of the past.
Question:
(Wh) + was/ were + S + V-ing?
Ex: What were you doing at 8 pm yesterday?

Use:

* Exact past time action

* An action was taking place in the

past when another action happened.

* Two or more parallel actions
