INTRODUCTION

1) Shri Vighnahar Sugar Factory-

An Industrial Factory Visit was organized by SHRI SHIV


CHATTRAPATI COLLEGE , JUNNAR
For it’s students to Shri Vighnahar sahakari sakhar Karkhana a renowned
player in the FAST MOVING CONSUMABLE GOODS(FMCG) industry.
The objective of the visit was to provide students with real-world insights into
the operations, manufacturing processes, and management practices of a
successful FMCG company.
Our industrial visit to Shri Vighnahar sahakari sakhar Karkhana enriched
our knowledge and experience and also provided a great opportunity to learn
practically through interactions of employment and it helped student to further
growth.

2) Parag Milk Foods-

Parag Milk Foods started as a dairy in Manchar with a 20,000


litre capacity in 1992. It concentrated on a niche segment, producing skimmed
milk powder and by 2004 became India's largest exporter of the skimmed milk
powder. However, the company faced a challenge when the Government of
India banned export of milk powder on account of local milk shortage.
Thereafter the company began investing in cheese production in 2008. The
company invested in a new facility to produce 1200 tonnes of cheese monthly
at a time when the country only produced 600 tonnes of cheese a month.
Consequently, there was a huge increase in cheese consumption in India with
the expansion of quick-service restaurants in the country.
In 2008, Motilal Oswal and IDFC Alternative Fund came in as investors in the
company. As of 2013, Cheese, Ghee and Yogurt contributed 75% of the
company's annual revenue. The company has a second dairy in Palamaner,
Andhra Pradesh.

Objective of the Visit

The primary objectives of the visit to Shri Vighnahar Sugar Factory And Parag
Milk Foods in Junnar, Pune, Maharashtra, may include:

1. Understanding the sugar and milk production process, from cultivation to


refining, to gain insights into the industry's operations.
2. Exploring the factory's technology and machinery to assess their efficiency
and sustainability practices.
3. Studying the factory's waste management and environmental conservation
methods, focusing on their efforts to minimize ecological impact.
4. Analyzing the factory's employment practices and community engagement

DETAIL OF THE JOURNEY

SHRI SHIV CHHATRAPATI COLLEGE organized an Industrial


Visit on 10th October 2023 , Tuesday at Shri Vighnahar Karkhana
located at Junnar , Pune for the students of BBA. The visit was organized
with permission of PRINCIPAL Dr.M.B. Waghmare Sir under the guidance
of Prof. P.P Jadhav mam , Prof. P.N Gujarathi mam, Prof. D.A Ahuja
mam.

We all were students who visited the Shri Vighnahar Karkhana we started the
journey from Shri Shiv Chhatrapati College Campus at 11:00 a.m. and reached
there in 1 hours. We waited during the travelling journey for the mid-time
breakfast .
At 11:30a.m. we reached our spot. After the session was over we all students
were taken to the workplace of the company where the production of sugar
took place.And At 3:30p.m we reach to Parag milk food factory.

COMPANY PROFILE
1)Shri Vighnahar Sugar Factory-

In the 1980s, Junnar / Ambegaon talukas were known as backward


and underdeveloped talukas in remote hilly areas. As there was no facility
of irrigation, farmers tended to grow traditional crops. Seeing all the
circumstances, something should be done to raise the standard of living of
the farmers, a man started working like crazy, that man is himself. MP
Nivritsheth Sherkar.

To divert the farmers from traditional crops, he decided to set up a


sugar factory that processes agricultural produce. And in the year 1981, he
started Shri Vighnahar Co. Ltd. Muhurtamedha planted.

2)Parag Milk Foods-
Parag Milk Foods is an Indian company that manufactures,
markets and sells milk and milk products. The company is India's second
largest producer of cheese under its brand Go and the country's largest
producer of cow ghee under its brand Govardhan. In 2015, the company
began producing whey protein powder and since then has launched
branded protein powder products as well. As of 2017, the company's
daily procurement of milk was 1.2 million litres. The company's brands
include Gowardhan, Go, Pride of Cows and Topp Up. The company
launched the Go brand in 2009, Pride of Cows in 2012 and Topp Up in
2013.
The company sells milk, ghee, dahi and paneer under the
Govardhan brand and cheese, milk, chaas, lassi, yoghurt under Go brand.

The company is India's second-largest producer of cheese under its
brand Go and the country's largest producer of cow ghee under its brand
Govardhan. n 2018, Parag Milk Foods acquired Danone's facility in
Sonipat, Haryana after Danone decided to shut its dairy operations in
India. Parag Milk Foods paid a consideration of ?30 crore (US$3.8 million)
to Danone for the facility which it now uses to service the North India
market The facility has a milk processing capacity of 75,000 litres a day
along with 15 tonnes of yogurt.

The company supplies milk directly from farms to


customers homes under the brand Pride of Cows. The milk is produced
at Bhagyalaxmi Dairy in Manchar, and procured from 3,800 Holstein
Freisan cows. The milk is supplied to households in Mumbai, Pune,
Surat and is airlifted to customers in New Delhi daily. The company
uses an invitation-only mobile application subscription-based
distribution model for this brand. In June 2019, Pride of Cows claimed
to become the first Indian brand to sell fresh milk in Singapore. The
company airlifts the milk from Pune to Singapore daily and uses a
home delivery model to reach the product to the end consumer.

especially during the covid time. Every brand came up with different
marketing strategies through different social media platforms.

In that way, Parag Milk Foods is also active on social media with a fair
amount of followers.

Though it has a fair amount of followers on all social media platforms it still
can do so by posting consistently on all these media so that it can gain a larger
audience.

Influencer marketing is where some people promote brands in order to gain


audiences. Though Parag milk food is active on social media of all kinds it
doesn’t take advantage of influencers. Parag Milk food can take this to their

Parag Milk Foods always work for consumers’ nutrition, health and
wellbeing. Furthermore, the products are basically simple but are healthier
and tastier certified by different testing machines to know the quality of
Parag dairy products. As of 2017, the company’s daily procurement of milk
was 1.2 million litres.
