OBJECT
Object of Preposition
1. Adverb as Object
Some adverbs of time or place can be used as object for preposition that
show the relationship of time or place.
Example :
• He has studied hard from then till now.
• My friends and I will meet at the restaurant
• He has been in the class since earlier
• My sister is reading the newspaper next to her.
Object of Preposition
2. Expression as object
An adverb phrase ( an expression that does not end in a preposition or a
conjunction) can be used as an object for a preposition.
Example :
• She did not return till about a week afterwards.
• I think this decision is the best for us
• I just got good news from him.

3. A noun clause as an Object
An noun clause (a clause that does the work of a noun) can be the object of a
preposition in the same way as nouns and pronouns.
Example :
• My departure will depend upon whether I get leave or not.
• Thank my English teacher for how he taught me some tricks.
• He didn’t say anything during the trip.

PREPOSITION OF TIME
Preposition of Time
At, on, for, and in often serve as prepositions of time.
We use at to designate specific times.
Examples :
• At : Meet me at five o’clock.
• On : I work all day on Saturdays.
• In : He likes to read in the evening.
• For : He worked for twenty years.

• Ago : The dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago
• Since : Ahmad Marzuqi has gone since 13 o’clock.
• During : I will do that during the holiday next week
• By : She had promised to be back By five o'clock.

PREPOSITION OF PLACE
Preposition of Place
At, on, and in can also serve as prepositions of place.
We use at for specific addresses.
Examples :
• At : I live at 12th Downing Street.
• On : I live on Legendary Lane.
• In : I live in Malir Cantt.
