What is a pattern?
A pattern is the repeated way in which something happens
or is done.

The pattern is blue, purple, blue, purple, blue, purple and blue.
Can you find a shape in the picture
that has all straight sides?

Can you see any patterns?

vertices.
This is a triangle. It
has 3 straight sides
and 3 vertices.
Use 2-D shapes to make a
pattern.
Focus Task: Use the shapes on the task sheet to create a two-
shape pattern and a three-shape pattern.
You may choose to add colour to your pattern when finished.
