TRAPEZOID
OBJECTIVE
K:Define Trapezoid
S: Identify the parts and theorems on
trapezoid.
A. Appreciates the importance of
trapezoid in dealing with real-life
situations.
TRAPEZOID
Trapezoid is a quadrilateral with
exactly one pair of parallel sides.
▪Bases are the parallel sides of
the trapezoid.
▪Legs are the non parallel sides
of the trapezoid.
▪Base angles are the angles
formed by a base and a leg.
▪Median is the segment joining
the midpoint of the legs of the
trapezoid.
▪Median of a trapezoid is parallel to
each base and its length is one half
the sum of the length of the bases.
▪ Base angles of an Isosceles
trapezoid are congruent.
▪ Opposite angles of an Isosceles
trapezoid are supplementary.
▪Diagonals of an Isosceles trapezoid
are congruent.
