Why do we table? • It allows us to directly connect with Carleton students in a meaningful way • Easier to ask students to complete tasks in person than digitally or via appeal • Builds awareness of SPA, our goals, and our partner funds Our tabling locations • This semester, we’re tabling in three different locations: 1.University Centre Galleria 2.Residence Commons 3.Tory Tunnel Junction UC GALLERI A • Week 1: Monday the 4th & Thursday the 7th • Week 2: Monday the 11th and Thursday the 14th • Week 3: None • Week 4: Monday the 25th and Tuesday the 26th RESIDENCE COMMONS • Every Wednesday tabling session (Nov 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th) TUNNEL JUNCTION • Week 3: Monday the 18th and Thursday the 21st Preparing for a shift • Each shift includes 15 minutes of pay at beginning and end for setup and teardown (a 3 hour tabling session is a 3.5 hour shift) • Arrive at the HCI 15 minutes prior to start time on table • Meet tabling partners in Call Centre • Wear appropriate clothing (Carleton clothing is great!) and comfortable shoes • Make sure phone is charged to take pictures, videos, etc Setup • Ask Melissa for storage room key to get cart • Load cart with supplies • Paper • Markers & Pens • Clipboards • Tablecloth • Giveaways (phone wallets, pens, frisbees, candy) • Information releases Setup (cont). • Walk over to tabling location to set up as close to planned time as possible • Will always be a little later for Residence Commons (far away) • Easiest to take tunnels in order to stay dry and keep supplies safe • Feel free to leave coats, backpacks, etc either in call centre or in coat closet at reception • When you arrive, check in with attendant at desk and identify yourself as part of SPA • Tunnel Junction: one person stays in tunnels with supplies, others go to CUSA to retrieve table and chairs During a shift • Primary focus is engaging as many students as possible • Secondary is taking pictures, videos, boomerangs to be used for promo • Send to @carletonspa Instagram and an ambassador will post • GOAL: 25 engagements per session Packing up • Ensure paper does not get creased or folded • Pack up all completed messages and information release forms • Return table and chairs (and retrieve deposit from CUSA) • Back in HCI, put cart in storage and messages, release forms in marked folders Hours and Sick Days • If you realize you are unable to attend a shift more than 24 hours in advance, email me (jaime.sadgrove@carleton.ca) to let me know • If it is less than 24 hours, give me a call at (819) 639-3503 • I will also be tracking hours – each shift is paid for the duration plus 15 minutes before and after • Any changes to this please communicate to me QUESTIONS?
