LESSON OBJECTIVES
Distinguishes the different parts of Chapter 3.

Examine the data sample provided.

Construct the Chapter 3 - Summary, Findings, Conclusion, and Recommendations.

Performs camaraderie through active participation.

Organize their ideas through a writing output.

• Due to clarity demand, summary of
findings must contain each specific
question under the statement of the
problem and must be written first to
be followed by the findings that
SUMMARY would answer it.

• No deductions, nor inference, nor

interpretation should be made
• The findings should be textual
generalizations, that is a
summary of the important data
consisting of text and numbers.
• Must be stated as concisely as FINDINGS
possible.
• Use past tense to present the
result of findings of the
investigation.
• The conclusions should be
short, concise statements of
inferences.
• Conclusions are brief, terse
statements that encapsulate the
CONCLUSIONS findings
• Conclusions should not contain
numerals
• Never repeat the findings in the
conclusions section.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Drawn from the findings and conclusions of the
study.
They must be feasible to be implemented.
Workable or functional, doable, adaptable and
flexible.
 A suggestion for further study must be included.

GUIDELINES
IN WRITING

BEFORE DURING AFTER

WRITING WRITING WRITING
BEFORE
WRITING
• Review graphs, tables, and data.
• List down numerical values, peak values, and trends that
support a conclusion
• List agreement or disagreement with previous results or
hypothesis
DURING
WRITING
• A summary and conclusion section should be a narrative but may contain lists for both the
summary and the conclusion.
• Carefully select words that are as accurate as possible to convey the conclusion.
• Avoid absolutes, extremes, and superlatives. For example, words like clearly, unquestionably,
absolutely, definitely, indisputably, etc. should only be used if they can be supported by data.
• Do not focus on the negative while ignoring the positive results.
• Make sure to reference specific data with numerical values and uncertainties.
• Provide implications of the conclusion drawn
AFTER WRITING

Always check to make sure the conclusions are supported by data and logical
arguments.
• Will the accuracy and uncertainty allow the conclusion to be made?
• Does the conclusion address the objective?
• Are the recommendations based on and supported by conclusions?
• Are the recommendations for additional work worthwhile or justifiable?
ANY
QUESTIONS?
ACTIVITY:
CROSSWORD SOLIDARITY GAME
1. Each group will have their crossword puzzle.
2. The students will answer one at a time to solve the puzzle (either across or
down) since they will form one line, and they can start answering individually on
the first bell of the teacher. The teacher will give them few seconds to answer and
a second bell will be made if their time is done.
3. The student shall move away from the table and go behind the last person on
their line, if they are done answering the crossword puzzle.
4. Once a group finishes the entire puzzle, they will raise their hands together as a
group indicating that they have finished
5. The first group who will solve the puzzle first wins the activity.
EXIT TICKET
