Advantage
• Time-saving: Highways typically have higher speed limits and fewer traffic lights
compared to local roads, allowing for quicker travel times between destinations. This
means travelers can reach Pattaya from Bangkok in a relatively short time compared
to alternative routes.

• Safety: Highways often have better safety features such as guardrails, lighting, and
emergency lanes, reducing the risk of accidents. Additionally, they tend to have strict
enforcement of traffic rules and regulations.

• Comfort: Highways generally have smoother surfaces compared to local roads,

providing a more comfortable driving experience, especially for long journeys.

• Economic Impact: A well-connected highway can stimulate economic development

by improving accessibility to tourist destinations like Pattaya, leading to increased
tourism revenue and business opportunities for local communities along the route.
Disadvantage
• Traffic Congestion: Despite being designed for efficient travel, highways can still
experience congestion during peak travel times or in cases of accidents or road work.
Traffic jams can significantly increase travel time and frustration for drivers.

• Monotony: Highways often lack the scenic variety of local roads, with long stretches
of similar landscapes or views. This can lead to monotony and boredom during the
journey, especially for long-distance travelers.

• Limited Access Points: While highways offer fast travel between major destinations,
they may have limited access points to smaller towns or attractions along the route.
Travelers may need to exit the highway and use local roads to reach specific
destinations, adding time and complexity to the journey.
