Media is the plural of “medium”, in
Latin means “instruments”.
A medium is the art technique or
material that you use to express
your art.
What is New Media Arts?
It is an umbrella term
used to describe every
new form of art at come
into existence with the
use of technology.
New Media Arts

New media art is art that is made with new


technologies. Some of these include digital art,
computer graphics and animation, virtual art,
internet art, video games, computer robotics, 3D
printing, and art as biotechnology.

INTERACTIVITY
It is an evident quality in most new media
art where the artwork responds to the
viewer.
CONNECTIVITY
It is the use of computers and the internet
in the production, modification, and
distribution of art.
GLITCH ART
It is the practice of using digital
or analog errors for aesthetic
purposes by either corrupting
digital data or physically
manipulating electronic devices.
MULTIMEDIA ARTS

It is an art which uses digital


versions of traditional media.
Examples are digital painting,
web design, and computer
graphics.
ALGORITHMIC ART

An art using
mathematical formulas
or algorithms as source
of form or structure.
INFOGRAPHICS
INFORMATION ART
An art using databases
and social or statistical
information as source.
PIXEL ART
It is a form of digital art,
created through the use of
software, where images
are edited on the pixel
level.
VIDEO GAME ART
Video games are work of art
