Learning Objectives
• Learning Objective 1: The impact of DMD on the independence of individuals,
specifically on the occupational performance. the impact of amputation on the independence of
individuals in the context of self-care. the impact of amputation on the independence of individuals in the context of self-
care. the impact of amputation on
Justification: This objective is importent for me as student because it will Allow me to devolep a •
comprehensive understanding of how the person's physical condition, in this case, hisham DMD, interacts with
.his environment and how it affects his ability to the occupational performance

PEO Model

• Justification The PEO model recognizes Hisham as the center of the assessment and intervention
:

process. By considering his abilities, strengths, limitations, and personal goals, I can gain a better understanding

of his unique needs and acknowledges the influence of the environment on a person's occupational performance.

In Hisham's case, it is essential to assess his home environment. and it recognizes the importance of meaningful

occupations in a person's life. For Hisham, this includes ADLs (such as bathing, toileting, and dressing). By

considering the dynamic interaction between Hisham, his environment, and his occupations, the PEO model can

help me develop a holistic intervention plan that addresses his specific needs.

Intervention Plan
• To enhance Hisham’s ability to participate in meaningful occupations
independently and improve pscyhosocial wellbeing by social interaction.
• Individual level:
• Environmental modifications
• Training and education
• To justify: By modifying the environment and providing education, the
focus is on enabling Hisham to actively participate in self-care tasks to the
best of his abilities. These strategies address the physical and environmental
barriers that may hinder Hisham's independence, and provide him with the
necessary skills and resources to overcome challenges and achieve his self-
care goals.

Conclusion and Q&A
In conclusion, improving Hisham's independence in self-care
activities is a crucial aspect of his intervention plan. By
implementing strategies such as environmental modifications and
providing training and education, Hisham can gain the necessary
skills and support to perform self-care tasks more independently.
These strategies aim to enhance his safety, and contribute to his
overall well-being and quality of life.
