WHAT IS A SCALAR?

Scalar quantities are quantities that have magnitude only.

• Scalar quantities are added or subtracted by using
simple arithmetic.
Example: 4 kg plus 6 kg gives the answer 10 kg

Vector quantities are measured with numbers and units, but
also have a specific direction.

parallelogram law
