invigilated at your own venue at a time that suits
you. All you need is a computer, an internet
connection, a microphone and a set of headphones.

You don’t need to know any specific language about
the world of work or business.

There is a clock on the computer screen which
shows you how much time you have for each component.
Rule 1 Always keep an eye on the timer to manage your time
effectively and allocate it wisely across the different

Please be advised that the following items shall always apply regardless of whether
they were mentioned in the other documents.

● Candidates are advised to use only Google Chrome or Firefox browsers to take the test.
● Take the test using normal mode.
● Disable ALL browser extensions such as grammar, spelling, and similar/related applications BEFORE
the test. DO NOT switch them on DURING the test for any reason.
● Disable ALL other PC applications, notifications, and similar/related software BEFORE the test. DO
NOT switch them on DURING the test for any reason.
● Disable ALL email, chatting, and similar/related software BEFORE the test. DO NOT switch them on
DURING the test for any reason.
● Only your Test Browser can be open during the entirety of the test.
● DO NOT bring any pen, paper, or other writing mediums/devices to the test.
● DO NOT interact with any devices such as your mobile phone DURING the test.
● Candidates are encouraged to place mobile phones behind them DURING the test.

● Candidates are encouraged to use wired mice, keyboards, and headsets. If candidates wish to use
wireless mice, keyboards, and headsets, ensure that their batteries are fully charged.
● Candidates must find a quiet, undisturbed, and peaceful location that is suitable for taking the test.
Candidates should not interact with anybody either physically or digitally during the test.
● Once the location is determined, candidates are encouraged to lock the door in order to prevent
disturbances from other people.
● Candidates should inform family members, friends, and other people in the house not to disturb,
knock, or call for them during the specified test time.
● Candidates are solely responsible for ensuring that their equipment, internet, and test environment are
secure for the purpose of taking the Linguaskill test.

● Candidates are encouraged to use up all the time that has been given completely in order to secure the
highest score possible.
● DO NOT click the red 'Finish' button at any time, unless you are ready to submit your test answers
FOR ALL THREE PAPERS.
● Should your internet connection be disrupted, do not panic. Simply CLOSE YOUR TEST BROWSER
completely, wait for your internet connection to resume, and restart your remote proctoring test as
normal. DO NOT click the red 'Finish' button in this situation.
● You MAY NOT take toilet breaks while any test paper is running. However, you MAY take quick
toilet breaks between test papers, i.e. after you've completed a paper and before you begin the next
paper.
