You will need:

instructions
1. Get into groups of 6 (there will be one group of 4).

2. Designate half your group to be customers, and the other half to be shopkeepers.

3. Customers must purchase all items found on their shopping list. They may select what
products to buy from 5 store flyers.

4. Meanwhile, shopkeepers will process transactions for the customers. They will
represent all 5 stores (you will have store signs).

1. How much did each group’s customers spend?

2. Customers - What approach did you use when selecting items to purchase?
● Did you want to save on money? Or splurge for your great adventure?

1. Shopkeepers - Did you notice any patterns in the customers’ purchases?

2. All - Are there any financial decisions you would make differently if you got to do this
activity again? What if you were met with a gatekeeper who demands for $20.00? Would
you have enough?

3. Overall, how did you feel before taking on your roles? Did those feelings change after the
activity?
