And he gave the apostles, the
prophets, the evangelists,
the shepherds and teachers,

faith and of the knowledge of the Son
of God, to mature manhood, to the
measure of the stature of the fullness

children, tossed to and fro by the
waves and carried about by every
wind of doctrine, by human cunning,
by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

love, we are to grow up in every
way into him who is the head, into

which it is equipped, when each part

Jesus Christ, being the head of the
church, expects us to be in unity as
we contribute to the growth of the
body as each one of us subjects
ourselves in the service of Christ.
BUILDING THE
CHURCH
For us to contribute to the building of
the church, all of us must be involved
in and experience EQUIPPING,
MATURING, and WORKING.

HE GAVE GIFTS OF
LEADERSHIP
APOSTLES - The duty of the apostles was to
establish the church and the churches.
PROPHETS - provide edification, exhortation, and
comfort to the church
EVANGELISTS - preach the gospel both at home
and abroad; leading people to faith in Christ.
PASTOR - overseers of local churches who pastor
and teach; all pastors are teachers, but not all
teachers are pastors
TEACHERS - responsible for instructing others in
the things of God.

GROWING CHRISTIAN.
 We must attain UNITY of our
FAITH and our KNOWLEDGE
of Jesus.

faith and knowledge of Jesus,
we are attaining MATURITY.
 Spiritual maturity is becoming like
Christ in our character.
In his love, His kindness, His
compassion, His holiness, His humility,
His unselfishness, His servant
attitude, His willingness to forgive, and
others.

 APPLICATION
We will serve God using our
gifts and talents out of love and
with love we will serve one
another.
 CONCLUSION
It is the plan of God that His church
must be built. He gave leaders to
equip the believers and help them in
maturity. He wants His church to work
and serve God and others in unity.
