Methods of Presenting

and Organizing Data

Graphs
 are pictures that convey
quantitative information.

 are used for much easier reference

(analysis and interpretation) of
data
Kinds of Graphs
 Line Graph
 Bar Graph
 Circle or Pie Graph
 Picture Graph or Pictograph
Kinds of Graphs
Line Graph
 It is also known as a line chart or
a line plot, is commonly drawn to show
information that changes over time.
 It is a graph use to show the rising and
falling trend of a set of data over a
period of time.

Kinds of Graphs
Bar Graph
 It is the representation of numerical data by
rectangles (or bars) of equal width and varying
height.
 The gap between one bar and another should
be uniform throughout.
 It can be either horizontal or vertical. The
height or length of each bar relates directly to

Kinds of Graphs
Picture Graph or Pictograph
 It can be used primarily for making early
learners associate objects with numbers.
 They help in visually formatting statistical data.
 They help in representing the data visually
interesting and easy to understand.
 They can be useful for representing a large
amount of data.
Parts of a Graph (Picture)
A title, which explains
what the pictograph is
about
Categories or labels,
which tell the type of data
collected
Symbols, which are
images that represent a
specific value
A key, which explains the
value of each symbol
Kinds of Graphs
Circle or Pie Graph
 It can be used to show percentages of a whole,
and represent percentages at a set point in
time. They do not show changes over time.

 It is a graph which divides the whole into

different fractional parts.
