introduction

A volcano is essentially a gap in Earth’s

crust where the surface is connected to
chambers of liquid rock below. Earth’s
crust is composed of tectonic plates that sit VOLCANO
on top of hotter, softer rock in the mantle.
Volcanoes most often occur at the
boundaries where plates meet.

ERUPTION
What are the different types of volcanoes? And why
do they differ from each other?

-Strictly speaking there are two broad types of volcanos, a

stratovolcano and a shield volcano, it can be formed into a cinder
cones or lava domes) as well processes that shape volcanoes.

What happened &
what was it
By Maya
What was it?
The explosive submarine eruption
began on December 20, 2021, with the
largest explosion occurring on January
15, 2022. Satellite measurements
recorded an eruption column of at least
30,000 m (98,000 ft) into the
atmosphere.
The explosion was extremely
powerful, and was heard as far as
Fairbanks, Alaska, nearly 10,000 km
away.

This is currently the largest eruption

of the 21st century.
WHAT WAS THE IMMEDIATE DAMAGE DID IT
CAUSE ?

The eruption of the Hunga Tonga–Hunga Haʻapai volcano in the island

nation of Tonga on Jan. 15 was the largest in decades. It spawned a tsunami
that damaged(despoiled) parts of Tonga, as well as smaller tsunamis
The gases and dust particles thrown into the atmosphere during volcanic
eruptions have influences on climate.

How did the volcano
erupt
By Malak
How did it erupt
A volcano is a landform (usually a mountain) where molten rock erupts through the
surface of the planet. In simple terms a volcano is a mountain that opens downward
to a pool of molten rock (magma) below the surface of the earth. It is a hole in the
Earth from which molten rock and gas erupt. There are around 1,510 active
volcanoes in the world. We currently know of 80 or more which are under the
ocean, Over half of the world's volcanoes arise in a belt around the Pacific Ocean
called the Ring of Fire. On 15 January 2022, an underwater volcano in the Pacific
Ocean’s Tongan archipelago called the Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha’apai erupted
violently. The blast ranked a six on the volcanic explosively index, making it the
most violent eruption anywhere in the world

How did this affect
people

How did this affect people?

Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai volcano
caused alot of things to the humans
life, That three people were reported
dead, 293 houses were damaged and 1
525 people were displaced by the
impacts of the volcanic eruption
and resulting tsunami
