Introduction

• Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of death, responsible for

42% of global deaths in 2022.
• Early detection of heart disease and diabetes is crucial for effective
management.
• Machine learning-based systems offer high-precision prediction of
heart disease and diabetes.
• Datasets like Heart disease, Cleveland, Framingham, and Cardiovascular
Disease are used for prediction.
• Diabetes is linked to high sugar levels, insulin issues, obesity, and family
history.
• Machine learning techniques help predict diabetes more efficiently by
analyzing parameters like glucose level, insulin level, BMI, and age.

Need / Objective and Scope

• Early detection of cardiovascular diseases is crucial for

effective management.
• Machine learning can predict heart disease, leading to timely
treatment and symptom reduction.
• Improved heart function is possible with the right treatment.
• Early prediction can help prevent the need for surgical
treatment, reducing costs.
• Similar to heart disease, diabetes can benefit from early
identification using machine learning.
• Doctors often rely on common knowledge, and research is
time-consuming.
• Machine learning can identify patterns in diabetes earlier,
expediting treatment decisions.

Problem Statement

• Prediction of Heart disease and Diabetes using Machine Learning: Cardiovascular

diseases can be managed effectively if it is detected and medicated at early stages and
in some cases with surgery. With the right treatment, the symptoms of heart disease
can be reduced and the functioning of the heart can be improved. The predicted
results can be used to prevent and thus reduce cost for surgical treatment and other
expenses. Similar to Diabetes, doctors rely on common knowledge for treatment.
When common knowledge is lacking, studies are summarized after some number of
cases have been studied. But this process takes time, whereas if machine learning is
used, the patterns can be identified earlier.

Mathematical Model(1/2)

y, each user will have a set of latent feature vectors z cgm u,i and z hr u,i
for i ∈ 1, 2, . . .,Nu, where Nu is the total number of windows available
for user u.
This aggregation operation on latent features is typically referred to as
‘‘mean pooling" in representation learning

Features- (Functionality, details of Algorithm)
• The system is designed to predict the likelihood of both
heart disease and diabetes in individuals using a single
integrated model.
• It enables the early detection of heart disease and diabetes,
allowing for timely medical interventions and lifestyle
changes.
• The system assesses and quantifies the risk factors
contributing to the development of heart disease and
diabetes, providing personalized risk scores.
• Integrates diverse data sources, including medical history,
lifestyle factors, genetics, and biomarkers, for a
comprehensive risk assessment.
• Utilizes a hybrid machine learning algorithm that combines
the strengths of various models, such as logistic regression,
decision trees, and deep neural networks, to improve
prediction accuracy.

Conclusion

With the rising number of people dying from heart disease, it’s more
important than ever to develop a system that can help forecast
cardiovascular disorders. For both datasets, we developed a bespoke
ensemble model that provides the best accuracy.
