 What is slaughter?
Slaughter is the killing of animals for food and
some other industrial purposes.
 How animals are viewed in industry?

• Fur
• Medical research
• Tusk (ivory)
• Food
• Fur :
• For thousands of years people have killed animals
for their fur.

• Alternative:
• Synthetic fibres, do not require the killing of
animals.
• Medical /scientific research:

• Experimenting on animals is unacceptable because:


• It causes suffering to animals
• Benefits to humanity don't provide moral
justification.
• Alternatives:
• Experimenting on cell cultures instead of
whole animals.
• Tusks (ivory):
• They are used for indicating wealth:
• Jwellery
• Portraits

• Alternative:
• A palm-like tree called Tagua gives us
nuts that can be carved like ivory.
•Food:
• Many people eat for taste , to get power.

• If you love animals there are many things that
you can do to help them:
• Keeping the environment clean.

• Do not keep wild animals as pets.



• Be kind to wildlife by
letting them live
unharmed.

• Pledge to be fur free.



• Put up a house or feeder
for outdoor birds.

• Do not buy ivory.
