 Why study humanities ?
Facilitate deeper intellectual understanding & lay the groundwork for a civically
engaged life.They can also prepare you to think critically ,act creatively & succeed in a
rapidly changing world.
The term “ Humanities “ comes from the latin word “HUMANITAS”
It generally refers to art , literature, music, architecture, dance & the theatre in which
human subjectively is emphasized & individual expressiveness is dramatized .
The fields of knowledge & study fallacies under humanities are dedicated to the
pursuit of discovering & understanding the nature of man .
The humanities deal with man as a being of purpose ,of values, loves, hates, ideas &
sometimes as a seer , or prophet with divine inspiration.
Humanities expand our knowledge of human cultures and help us
understand what binds us together & what differentiates us
another.

our creativity to develop innovative solutions to problem
• 2.Communication- the ability to form unique viewpoints & to express
yourself clearly & persuasively in both written & spoken form.

numerical data to formulate & deliver educated data.
• 4.Teamwork-the ability to accept & understand the viewpoints of
others to work collaboratively with them to achieve common goals.
• Personal Responsibility-the ability to see the consequences for your
actions & take consequences & take responsibility for and justify the
choices you make.
• SOCIAL & RESPONSIBILTY-the ability to see whats the best for
community & the whole world as a whole & to act accordingly.
ART IS UNIVERSAL
• Its everywhere you can see art in every part of the world .Art reflect
about human to communicate .Art reflects our tradition culture,
social, emotion & understanding, art is the main means of
communication that connect the world.
• Art is universal language transcends words. It has no language
barriers .It can be understood not only by art critics trained in
deciphering .The meaning of its symbols, but by any human being
who cares enough to engage with the image.Art is used to convey an
idea or feeling.
