Troubleshooting is the identification of trouble in a
system caused by a failure of some kind. Step 1 Step 1 of troubleshooting:
Find out the problem- very important step as it gives
you an idea of how much you face this problem.
Some common problems are: system not getting
power supply, system restarts on its own, system is running slow etc. Step 2 Step 2 of troubleshooting: • Categorise your problem: once you figure out whether the problem is in ur hardware or software, then most of the work is done. • For hardware problems: check the power supply points, check whether devices like keyboard, mouse, printer and system unit are connected properly and ensure that during startup, all peripherals attached are recognized. • For software problems: check operating system files, check software files that are frequently used and device drivers should be installed properly Step 3 Step 3:
Check the service manual- once you figure out the
type of problem your computer system may be facing, you can check the service manual. Service manuals contain instructions for trouble shooting and service information. Step 4 Step 4:
Back to original state. When you troubleshoot, you
make one change at a time in problem sector. If change does not solve the problem then you need to restore it back to original state.
Making several alterations at a time will lead to
complications.
If changes don’t have results then it’s better to undo
the changes. Step 5 Call an expert.
If you cannot solve the problem or feel as though you
cannot solve the problem, then you should call an expert (technician) in order to prevent causing further problems. The end.
