Career Charades
Begin with a bowl of phrases or careers. In
turn, each player draws a slip from the
bowl and acts out the phrase shown using
hand signals and body motions but no
spoken words. Players then try to guess
the title/phrase. The group with the most
guessed answer wins.
Objective:

At the end of the session, the students shall be able


to:
1. Recognize different symbols and symbolism in a society
2. Share importance of an object or symbol to oneself.
3. Demonstrate different symbols associated with different
careers.

Gives the speaker or writer
the opportunity to describe
something in a more poetic
fashion.
Types of Symbols
• Cultural Symbols
- Manifestation that signifies ideology of a
particular culture that has meaning with that
culture.
- Is broadly understood and used that it
does not require explanation.

- Relating to human
societies and its modes of
organization.

- Simplify and “summarize”
the political structures,
standpoint, and practices for
which they stand.

- Used in production, distribution, and
consumption of goods and services, and
other economic activities.

A micro-level theory that focuses on
meanings attached to human interaction,
both verbal and non-verbal, and to
symbols.
