 Objective:
To investigate whether fluvastatin can decrease the adhesion of
leukocytes to endothelial cells (ECs) and thrombus formation
induced by antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL).

Fluvastatin: Administered at 15 mg/kg.

Products and

Antiphospholipid Antibodies (aPL): Purified IgG from APS patients.

Materials

Control Group: Normal IgG from healthy subjects.

Measurement Tools: For assessing thrombus size and leukocyte

adhesion.
 Methodology
Animal Preparation:
male mice, divided into
groups.
Treatment: Administration of
saline solution or fluvastatin for
15 days.
Antibody Introduction:
Injection of purified IgG
from APS patients or
normal IgG.
Thrombus Dynamics Analysis:
Standardized thrombogenic injury
procedure and measurement of
thrombus area.

 Conclusion:
 Fluvastatin significantly diminishes aPL-mediated
thrombosis and EC activation in vivo.

 Potential for new treatment strategies in APS

patients.
