Education System
The Indian Education System is one of the oldest education systems in the
world. Several centuries ago, the students studied at Gurukul ashrams and
stayed with the teacher until the teacher felt that he has taught them everything
he had to.
The destruction of our education began with the English Education Act 1835,
where the East India Company was to fund and support any institution that
would teach the western curriculum with English as the language of instruction.
After the first war of Independence in 1857 The law said that any Gurukul that
teaches in Sanskrit or regional languages is illegal and running such a Gurukul is
a punishable offense. This resulted in the closure of lakhs of gurukuls across the
country with many Acharyas and disciples even being imprisoned or killed for
disobeying the law.

Education System
The British gave massive grants to Christian missionaries to help them setup
their schools here they also made it mandatory for the Indian government
servants to send their kids to convent schools. They completely plundered our
education system and westernized it to destroy our cultural identity.
Today, even after 7 decades of Independence, these systems are still exactly
the same and nothing was done after independence to dismantle these systems
or reform them.
The Indian education system is designed for students to score marks and get
good grades and repeat the process but it was never designed to teach the
students the skills required to survive in this world. That is why we see
unemployment rising in spite of so many graduates with degrees.
Lack of reforms and improvements makes the Indian education system
ineffective and annoying.

YOGA
Yoga, being widely considered as an ‘immortal cultural outcome’ of Indus Saraswati Valley
civilization – dating back to 2700 B.C. historical evidences of the existence of Yoga were
seen in the pre-Vedic period (2700 B.C.), The main sources, about Yoga practices and the
related literature are in Vedas (4), Upanishads(108), Smritis, teachings of Buddhism,
Jainism, etc.

Yoga is a spiritual discipline that is based on a subtle science that aims at attaining
harmony between body and mind. Yoga, being widely considered as an ‘immortal cultural
outcome’ of Indus Saraswati Valley civilization – dating back to 2700 B.C., has proved itself
catering to both material and spiritual upliftment of humanity This is also referred to as
science and art for achieving healthy living.

It is the perfect example of holistic health because of its combination of mind and body.

Thus the aim of Yoga is Self-realization, to overcome all kinds of sufferings leading to
'the state of liberation' (Moksha) or ‘freedom’ (Kaivalya).

MANIPUR VIOLENCE

Violence in Manipur has a lot to do with its geography and ethnic communities. The issue is
related to the non-tribal Meitei community and the Kuki community. The ethnic violence has its
root in a 10-year-old demand for an ST tag.

There have been violent communal clashes in Manipur due to the Manipur High Court (HC)
directing the State to pursue a 10-year-old recommendation to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST)
status to the non-tribal Meitei community.

The Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee of Manipur (STDCM) began demanding ST status for
the Meiteis in 2012.

The Meiteis were recognised as a tribe before the merger of the State with the Union of India
in 1949. The ST status is needed to “preserve” the community and “save the ancestral land,
tradition, culture, and language” of the Meiteis.
