INTRODUCTION
Yoga is an ancient practice of physical fitness & inner healing
originating and nurtured in India.
It believes in the ‘panchtatva’ or 5 elements of nature Agani, Vayu,
Pruthvi, Jal & Akash. That make up the human body and enable it to
function.
Practice of yoga focuses on harnessing the benefits from various
natural sources for the growth & healing of the human mind, body &
spirit.
The most popular form of yoga practice known to all is the sun salutations
or ‘ Surya Namaskar’. Which is bowing down to the sun for its power &
fiery energy that, strengthens, warms & intensifies the energy
consumption and expenditure of the body.
In contrast to the sun salutations is the moon salutation or ‘Chandra
Namaskar’, which unlike the sun is soothing, relaxing, stress reliving &
rejuvenating.
Not very popular though, the moon salutation has its own unique gifts to
offer the yogic world, in todays disturbed lifestyles.
OBJECTIVES
The energies of the sun over time lead to aging, decay &
death. Hence to reverse these effects Chandra Namaskar is
practiced.
