1. What´s Padel Tennis?

It is an opposition sport that is played in pairs, with three fundamental

material: ball, racket and playing field. It has well-defined rules and is
represented by federations, associations and confederations.
Ball
The ball is a white or yellow rubber sphere. Its diameter is between 6.35 and
6.67 cm and its weight is between 56.7 and 58.5 g.

The racket
The racket measures 45.5 centimeters long and 26 centimeters wide.

Playing field
Is a rectangle 10 meters wide by 20 meters long. This rectangle is divided in
half by a network. On both sides and parallel to it, there are the service lines at
a distance of 6.95 m.
2. Where does this sport comes from?
The history of padel tennis begins in Mexico at the end of the 60s.
When a businessman, Enrique Corcuera, adapted a piece of land on his farm to play
this sport with wooden paddles and a ball. Which he called Paddle Tennis.
However, it is in Argentina where paddle tennis acquires great importance,
becoming the second most practiced sport in the country.
3. How is Padel Tennis played?

Three sets are played and points are won when the ball bounces twice in
the opponent’s field or when it is thrown incorrectly.
For example
- A player touches the net on the opposite field.
- A player touches the ball with his body.
- A player touches the ball twice in a row.
4. Do we practice this sport in our country?
A study indicates that clubs have increased on a global scale in the last
five years.
Peru has already developed the first edition of the Padel Center Cup,
organized by Perú Padel Center, which marks the pause for the
development of this sport in the country, inaugurating its new
headquarters in Villa-Chorrillos.
