What are Greetings?

• They are friendly or polite things that


you say or do when you meet or
welcome someone.

• They are messages that say


you hope someone is well, happy, etc.
Greetings can be FORMAL OR
INFORMAL
• Formal greetings are ways of saying
“hello”, which change depending on
the time of day.

• Informal greetings sound more


natural, and also to express yourself
more clearly and precisely.
