Kangaroo belt
Pax seatbelt
Extension belt
Spare belt
Safety equipment
Kangaroo belt:
Can come with one or two loops (we only have one loop)
Can be used as extension belt if buckles are the same as the passenger
seatbelt.
Cabin crew must hand out the Kangaroo belt before taxiing and give the
following instructions on its use:
Safety equipment
Slide the end of the adult seatbelt with no buckle through the loop of the
kangaroo seatbelt.
In case of evacuation only unfasten the adult seatbelt; the kangaroo belt can
remain secured on the infant
Extension belt:
Must be used if the ordinary seatbelt is too short (e.g. for obese
passengers).
Insert one end in the passenger’s seatbelt, close it and adjust it to the desired
size.
Safety equipment
Gives important information to the passengers about the safety on board of the
different aircraft types.
If the CCM judge that the passenger is not able to fulfill the tasks on the card,
the passenger must be replaced.
Safety equipment
Each assigned CCM has to perform a preflight check of the fixed and portable
safety related items o/b, using the “Safety equipment card”.
Each assigned CCM has to perform a pre-flight security check using the
security check card.
Demo kit:
Contents:
The contents are used for demonstration purposes only and not for actual use.
Safety equipment
Life jacket:
The life jacket carried on board might vary in shape and/or fitting depending
the aircraft type.
For every person on board (including infants) a life jacket must be carried:
• when the initial climb out and/or final approach is over water
• when flying over water more than 50NM/90km away from land.
Life jackets are available with one or two inflatable chambers (fwd and aft).
Each chamber can be inflated by firmly pulling a red tag.
The life jacket can be inflated and deflated by means of rubber tubes:
To deflate: press the valve in the top of the “red” rubber tube and allow excess
air to escape.
Safety equipment
The life jacket is equipped with a light on the shoulder to assist location of
survivors in darkness.
The light will illuminate when the battery comes in contact with water and after
the yellow tag of the battery has been removed.

Safety equipment
Cabin oxygen system:
The cabin oxygen system supplies passengers and cabin crew with oxygen in
case of a depressurization.
When one of the masks is pulled, a pull pin in the supply line is released and
the O2 flows into all the masks connected to the unit. The inhaled oxygen is
automatically mixed with ambient air.
Safety equipment
The heat may cause temporary harmless fumes and/or slight burning odor.
The compartment door on each mask unit has a drop test doorstopper
to allow partial drop of the door without deploying the masks during a functional
check of the unlocking system by the maintenance department.

They can be used for first aid purposes and for supplementary oxygen after a
decompression.
If the pressure in the bottle is reduced to below 50 PSI, condensation will form
in the bottle in such way that it can not be refilled. This should be avoided at all
times.

Evacuation devices:
Evacuation devices provide a faster and safer way to evacuate your aircraft in
case of an emergency.
They can be used on the ground (as a slide) or on water (as a slide raft or
floating device).
Safety equipment
Survival kit:
There is one survival kit for every slide-raft (wide body A/C),
either packed together with the equipment or
stowed separately, hanging outside the raft.
Contains:
• 6 Day/night signals
• 2 signaling mirrors
Safety equipment
ELT SO-6:
This system relays this information to the ground network connected to Mission
Control Centers and Rescue Coordination Centers.
Safety equipment
This signal is added to facilitate the final approach of the rescue team
• 3 Absorbent pads
• 2 Pairs of gloves
• 2 Polyethylene bags
The ‘door inop kit’ contains the necessary material to undertake these actions.
