Session Objectives:
1. Identify the presence of fire hazards in the
community (factories, destructed forests,
informal settlers and other hazard)
2. Distinguish the cause of fire
3. Enlist the names of the Fire Brigade Team and
identify their responsibilities
4. Determine the needed training of the Fire
Brigade Team
5. Create a Barangay Fire Response Plan
 Expected Output
1. Fire hazards are identified.
2. Fire Brigade Team is enlisted.
3. Fire Response plan is formulated.
 Process
1. Flash on the screen the objectives of conducting
the session (5mins)
2. Flash pictures regarding the common fire hazards
and fire causes in the community (5mins)
3. Link discussion with the previous session (5mins)
4. Flash the vision, mission and legal mandate of the
Bureau of Fire Protection (5mins)
5. Activity: Ask the participants what are the hazards
present and causes of fire in their community.
Allow them to use metacards. (5mins)
6. Presentation of output by participants (5mins)
7. Discuss the importance of creating a Fire
Response Plan as well as the
functions/responsibilities of the Fire Brigade
Team in the community (10mins)
8. Activity: Ask the participants to fill up the
Barangay Fire Brigade Team Matrix and
drafting of the Fire Response Plan (10mins)
9. Presentation of Output (5mins)

 Fire hazards include ALL types of
- live flames,
- causes of sparks,
- hot objects and
- chemicals
that are potential for ignition, or that can
aggravate a fire to become large and
uncontrolled.
COMMON CAUSES OF FIRE
• Leaking LPG Tanks
• Defective Electrical Equipment
• Flammable Liquids placed near
high temperatures
• Burning of dried Leaves
• Failure to extinguish and
improper disposal of lighted
cigarettes
• Unattended Cooking
• Unattended activities of
children
