Formula Bar
It is the 5th line of the Application window which contains the cell reference area
and the edit area. The cell reference area tells about the location or address of the
currently active cell on the worksheet. The edit area is use for entering and editing
text, numbers, and formulas for the active cell.
Formula Bar
If you enter or edit a cell's content, two boxes appear to the right of the reference
area: the Cancel box with an "X" in it and the Enter box with "√" in it. Clicking on
the Cancel box cancels any changes you made in the edit area & return's a cell's
original contents. Clicking on the Enter box is like pressing ENTER key. It transfers
the edited contents of the edit area to the active cell.

function with the typewriter keys. However, there are
several keys that performs special tasks.
