Pure element
A pure element is an element that is made up of only that type of
atoms. In other words they are not mixed with other elements.
Example gold is made up of only gold atoms. Pure gold is 24 carat.

When silver is sold, it is usually marked with
the number parts per thousands. What will be
the percentage purity of Silver marked 925?
 Diamonds are made from carbon. Pure diamond that
contains no other element is colorless and translucent.

Pure diamond Yellow diamond is obtained when a few

carbon atoms are replaced with nitrogen
If some carbon atoms is replaced by atoms of boron, then the diamond
will be blue.
A green diamond is obtained when few carbon atoms are replaced by
nitrogen, nickel or hydrogen.
