STUDY OF WALKABILITY

Where Qsw = required evaporative heat loss (W./m 2) and Qemax= maximal evaporative capacity of the
environment (W.m-2), 0.06 is dimensionless of minimal skin wettedness by skin diffusion.

It is assumed Indonesian male with tall is 170 centimeters and weights 70 kilograms.
Use casual clothing with average using in the park with clo value is 0.49 for all
simulations, and activity (metabolic rate) is walking/light activity (150w/m2) equals to
134 ms-1 according to de Dear’s calculator. Use the data assumed by average Indonesian
people and the variability of weather data, the distance of walkability in the
superblock’s open space can be calculated.

• As our cities become more crowded, and parks
and public spaces become more vital, the
multidisciplinary balancing act required for this
work becomes more and more complicated.
• Nature, in a sense, will be more and more
engineered, with these designers asked to
continually envision a new, and better, landscape,
and a greener, more sustainable city.
