Simple Past Tense

We use the simple past tense to talk about things that happened in the
past.

Time words that we use include:

Yesterday

Last Week

Last month

… years ago
Simple Past Tense
We use the grammar point:

Subject + Verb ( -ed ) + Object

For example:
• She visits Grandma.
She visited Grandma yesterday.

• My friend watches a movie.


My friend watched a movie last night.

• Tom turns 13.


Tom turned 13 three years ago.
