Football

Football is a sport with two teams formed by 11 players in each


team that compete against each other in order to score more
goals.
History of foootball
Modern football was originated in Britain in the 19th century, but in
Medieval times folk football was played.
It started to become popular when students in public schools played
football during winter.
Modalities of football
Football 11: it is the most common type of football,

each team has 11 players, it is the one played at the Champions League.

Football 7: it is the same as football 11, but there are only 7 players by team and the
football field is smaller.

Indoor football: there are only 5 players in each team, and it is played indoor.

Beach football: it is played on sand and there are only 5 players by team.
Main rules of football
● Teams will be told which way they are kicking at start of game.
● Teams cannot score directly from a kick off.
● There is no offside
● All free kicks and corners are direct and opposition must be 3 metres away.
● Goal kicks to be taken anywhere inside penalty area. Opposition must be 3 metres away and ball must leave penalty
area for play to recommence.
● Substitutions can be made at any time from the half way line. Substituted player must leave the pitch before replacement
goes on.
● Compulsory line up and handshake to finish.
● Games will be 10 minutes each way in duration with a 2 minute half time
● There is a 6 minute gap between each game. Teams must be ready to take the pitch as soon as the previous match has
concluded.
● A size 4 football shall be used
● Teams to have a matching kits in school colours with goalkeeper having a distinctly different coloured shirt – a bib may
be used to facilitate this differentiation
● Correct equipment i.e. long socks, shin pads, football is a compulsory requirement

Conclusion and reflection
To conclude, football at the beginning was a sport only few people
could practise, but now everybody can, but i think it moves more
money that it should.
