CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND

STUDIES
Globalization is the intensification of all possible interactions that both
the state and non-state actors in the international community.
Consequently, the external sovereignty of states is transformed. The
reason is that we cannot close our borders today vis-à-vis other
countries. Moreover, the existence of international organizations like
the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) affects the
policy-making of states.
In this context, there are no real “independent” states anymore because
of the existing interdependence among us. Hence, it would be quite
controversial to really claim to be an independent nation. However, it
should still be noted that even if we are in this era, states should still not
lose their identity as states.
