INTRODUCTION
Clean water is a basic need for all living beings. Without water survival in the Earth is not possible. Water
covers about 70% of the Earth’s surface among that only 3% of that is pure water.
Water gets polluted due to any reasons like industry waste, sewage waste, garbage waste. Hence it is
important to maintain cleanliness and hygiene of water. We considered this water pollution as a serious issue
and start to work on the project.
We decided to incorporate technology to get the work done effectively and efficiently. Our project design is
in such a way that it collects the waste which floats on water bodies. In present time almost all the people are
familiar with robots.
We are going to design a very interesting robot that is Smart Phone controlled Robot. Traditional method for
collecting water surface floating waste are manual basis, by means of boat trash skimmer. The above methods
are costly risky and large time consuming.
To eliminate the drawbacks of the above-mentioned methods the remote controlled AI based water cleaning
machine was designed which helps in cleaning the water surface efficiently and eco/friendly. The water waste
cleaning Robot consists of Node MCU, DC motor battery, Ultrasonic sensor, Camera are attached to it for
collecting the waste and monitoring the water.

CLEANING WATER BOAT, [2023] IJCRT
• The project described in this paper appears to focus on the development of an automated river cleaning system
utilizing a tread mill arrangement. The system integrates RF transmitter and receiver for control, a battery-
powered conveyor belt for removing suspended solids, and a camera for monitoring the boat's movement and
waste picking. The project emphasizes the use of science, technology, and community involvement for building
a sustainable environment. It highlights the effectiveness of the proposed system in cleaning waste-dumped
rivers, with notable improvements in efficiency compared to conventional methods. The system's efficiency is
reported to be 88.81 percent higher than conventional methods, achieved by utilizing PVC pipes and an air
tube piping guider mechanism to draw floating garbage towards the boat. Overall, the project aims to address
the growing problem of waste disposal in fresh water sources through innovative technological solutions and
community engagement.
EXISTING SYSTEM
PROPOSED SYSTEM

• This project is to remove the floating trash in the lake or water bodies, to reduce down the
waste. By cleaning down this lake or water bodies without the manual help will save times
and manpower. In this proposed system, an automated vehicle is used to clean down the
floating trash. Hence the contact with the dirt and the mosquitoes will be reduced. The
system has an ESP32 camera which detects down the waste by image processing and the
automated vehicle will collect the floating trash and this will have a bin in the boat where
the trash will be stored. This system will be more advanced as this would collect down the
floating non degradable wastes with the help of the image processing. The system can also
able to detect any drowning person in the water bodies by using AI based image
processing. That information will be relayed to the nearest emergency services so that the
drowning person life can be saved in time.

METHODOLOGY

Initial Setup:

• The vehicle will be fitted with six dc motor. Two dc motor for movement of the vehicle and two dc
motor will be used for cleaning the lake. Vehicle will have Node MCU microcontroller which will be
act as brain of the vehicle. Node MCU will be attach with the vehicle to communicate wirelessly .

Set Instructions:

• Various instruction will be sent to the boat using node MCU. We will use android application to send
instruction to the vehicle. Server process the captured image and if any garbage is detected, send
instruction to the boat and boat controls the motors to rotate in that direction.
EXPERIMENTAL SETUP
CURRENT PROJECT STATUS
• ULTRASONIC SENSOR ESP8266 NODE MCU

• L298N DUAL MOTOR DRIVER DC MOTOR

• 12 V BATTERY CAMERA
EXECUTION

• In the execution phase when the vehicle is switched on it will start

communication with user android device. It will respond to user instruction.
When the user presses the start button, it will start automatic cleaning the lake.
User can also manually control the vehicle by pressing the various button to
move forward likewise backward, left and right direction. If the vehicle detects
any obstacle it will stop the vehicle
OUTCOME
• Android application is able to communicate with wifi module of the lake cleaning
vehicle.
• Vehicle is able to manoeuvre according to signal receive from android application.
• AI based garbage detection algorithm can predict the garbage on the water surface and
send instruction to the boat to control the movement and collect garbage.
