ECOSYSTEM:

LIFE ENERGY
• Ecosystem also sustains life. It is the life energy. All organisms need
energy in the form of food to stay alive and be able to do their
activities.

• Autotrophic organisms
Can produce their own food by capturing light energy and converting it
into chemical energy, which is then used by the cell.

• Heterotrophs
They rely on autotrophic organisms to provide food for them.
CROSS SECTION OF A LEAF
LEAF
• The leaf is the site of photosynthesis. The parts include the lower
and upper epidermis, palasade mesophyll layer that contains the
chlorophyll. Spongy mesophyll layer absorbs water and oxygen.
The vascular bundles consists of the xylem and phloem as the
transport system and stoma that allows the entrance of oxygen and
water. There are guard cells that regulate the opening and closing
of the stoma.
PROCESS OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS

• Photosynthesis is the process by which plants

produce their own food.
• In the presence of light energy, carbon dioxide and
water are converted into food in the form of sugar
and oxygen.
